Default NBC may have escaped last place for the first time in 8 years

http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/05/24/nbc-ratings-2012

If the final ratings hold up, "The Voice" will have helped NBC surpass ABC to become the 3rd-place network in the key 18-49 demo.

CBS beat both NBC and ABC in the demos?? That's pretty wild.

The joke that CBS only appeals to senior citizens is what's old. The truth is that they skew young, very young, younger than ABC and FOX! And... they get more 18-49 and 18-34 viewers than The CW.

They get more total viewers in those demos, but they don't skew younger than Fox, ABC, NBC or CW. Percentage is much lower for 18-49 for CBS.

And it wasn't The Voice that helped NBC, it was the Super Bowl. Without it, they would be in fourth and dropped two tenths to a 2.3 rating.

The cW is a mess. why is it even still on the air? FOX and CBS are King as always however FOX was helped by American American Idol.

Perhaps it may have also helped that a few of ABC's dramas are either fading or getting the axe (i.e. Desparate Housewives)

Or in the case of this season's Dancing with the Stars, too.

The truth is NBC was helped by the Super bowl, also with some really strong ratings for it NBC Sunday Night Football Games(Some of those games scored some Big numbers) which ended up being the highest rated show of the season and then a Strong Start for the voice! You take away the Super Bowl and the Voice NBC would be in Fourth Place again for the Ninth years in a Row and ABC would be in Third Place and Not Fourth!

They could keep all The Voice and SNF airings but take away the Super Bowl and NBC would be in fourth. Losing 2.4 to 2.3.

May be some truth to that because without the NFL i would be watching NBC 2 times a week instead of 3 times a week. And that could be the case for a lot of people

Not at all. CW can't get a show around a 0.6 demo (other than The Vampire Diaries). NBC, meanwhile, has nearly all of its shows above a 1.0 demo. No way was it possible for NBC to take last place this season.
