Default Poltergeist Film Curse

Hello all! Let me say first that Unsolved Mysteries is my favorite show of all time, I have seen every episode aired on tv in real time, and love to watch re-runs! I have been following this forum for years, and would like to say thanks for all the dedication put in.
While the topic of the thread is not an UM episode subject, I felt compelled to post this info here in hopes to solving a bizarre query about the motion picture Poltergeist (1982).
I'm sure many of you have heard of (forgive me if you have not)the speculated "Poltergeist Movie Curse", because several cast members have passed during the filming of the three films.
There is a very bizarre factor about the first Poltergeist film that has gone overlooked, IMO. There is only one other mention of this online(that I can find), and given the films history and controversy, I am surprised it is not well known: Hanging on the wall in the children's bedroom during the film is a poster for 1988 Superbowl XXII. The movie was filmed in 1981, released in 1982. The date of the 1988 Superbowl XXII was the date that Heather O'Rourke (Carolanne) was sent to the hospital and died hours after.
I have the film on blueray, and it is clear its 1988 Superbowl XXII, not 1983. I would love to blow the lid off this thing!

The only guy "cursed" is Tobe Hooper. Poor guy will never get credit for directing it.

That is actually very strange. The movie was made in 1982. Unless the movie for some reason is done ahead of its time and actually takes place in 1988 which is 6 years later. I can't remember anything from the movie that gave us the impression that it was taken place 6 years after the present time though.

The real curse I think was Exorcist in 1973. Over the course of 6 months there were a lot of strange deaths that happened right on the set. Stuff like crew members dying and things like that but a much more unusual amount than normal.

The other movie with some controversy swirling around it is Three Men and a Baby. Practically a family movie, but the apartment scene where you literally see a dead boy staring in the window is actually pretty haunting considering the rumours state that the boy actually once lived in that apartment at one time. I haven't seen that movie in a long, long time but I'd really like to know the story behind that one - the true story.

The 3 Men and a Baby ghost is a myth - the "ghost" is a cardboard cut-out of Ted Danson in a tux. The indoor scenes were shot on a soundstage, not a real apartment.

That is kind of weird. Was it in the script that the story was supposed to be set in 1988 and they made up a Super Bowl poster for that?

But yeah, I remember E! had a special one time about "curses" and Poltergeist was mentioned because of cast members Heather O'Rourke (1988), Dominique Dunne (1982), and someone else's (was an elderly man that was in the second movie) (1985) deaths during the same year of each of the three films being released or filmed.

112. ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 11/09 **#14**
Molesters Killed Her: Back in the mid-80's was peak child molesting time in Hollywood. There was no internet. There were very very few mobile phones. Children came to the set where they were left alone by their parents. For the next 8 hours they were subject to every kind of horrible thing you can imagine. Drugs were commonplace. They were used to try and get the kids to not be so hysterical when being assaulted. Producers loved casting shows with kids and tweens. If someone pitched a show that involved a handful of tweens with a dozen tween extras per week, it would get a green light. Even if the show was going to suck, and everyone knew it was going to suck, if you got the right pedo at a studio he would say yes just to come for the casting and taping of the pilot. As sad as it is to say, there were a lot of parents who told their kids to go off with the nice man in the suit and do what he says. It was a sick sick time. It was just past the mid 80's when a producer came up with the idea of a tween show that not only would feature a rotating cast of extras, but would make the studio a bunch of money because they would film quickly and not hire any adults. Further, the faster they filmed, the more time they would have to molest all the kids that would be hanging around. From the first day, it was the worst place on earth if you were a kid. The studio where the show was filmed also had several other shows being filmed there, most of which featured lots of children. Executives would drive over to Hollywood right before lunch and would stay at the studio for several hours each day. Anyway, on this particular show, there was a special guest star. A very special guest star. Still not a tween, everyone knew who she was. Executives flocked to the studio that day to see her. She was first molested when she was 5 or 6 and had continued to be molested throughout her hit movies and also on a previous show. One of the stars of the show who has spent her life bouncing in and out of rehab because of what she saw, and who was actually nominated for awards from the show, described the atmosphere that day. "A bunch of f**king pigs. I had just turned 12 or 13. I was the same age as the actress coming in. Maybe a little older. We had been shooting for months and I was old news. They knew I would do what they wanted, but they always wanted someone new. This was someone new and someone they all knew. They had it set up like a peep show almost. She had finished shooting that morning and they brought her out on a stage. The stage was used most of the time for a game show that was taped there. That game show is still on today. I can't watch it knowing what happened to her there. They brought her out and the front four rows of this theatre were filled with guys who were already rubbing themselves. The girl was wearing a bikini. The show took place around a beach just so they could make these girls wear next to nothing. They had her walk around under the lights. The lights were focused on her and she couldn't really see out to the audience. She was squinting. It must have been blinding for her. They had her walk back and forth. Then they had her start dancing. All of these guys were doing what another star at that same studio got busted for. This went on for about 20 minutes. Then three of the guys took her to a different area of the studio." The actress didn't see what happened, but about 45 minutes later, one of those three guys came running out and needed a set medic. Apparently they had inserted something inside the girl and things were bad. The medic came and the ambulance came. The parents of the girl were told some crap story. That crap story ended up killing the girl because the parents believed the executives. Two weeks later, the show finished shooting six episodes all at once and then everyone was sent on their way forever. No one wanted the kids around or any witnesses to what happened.

Sweet lord, is that website actually supposed to produce evidence, or just hide away from lawsuits behind baseless allegations by not naming anybody? To believe this you would have to believe that every other actor on set, everybody from the runners, grips to the director was either involved with or not bothered about it, allowed it to happen & never said a word about it.

Then you would have to believe that the medical staff & the coroner would be either totally incompetent or happy to go along with it, not only after her death, but the doctors beforehand when they were examining her for her problems.

Now there is no doubt that there have always been nonces in Hollywood, but like the sex perverts we have heard about as of late they operate behind closed doors & usually on their own. The idea of setting up a studio where rows of guys are going to sit there beating their meat while kiddies dance around & then three guys are going to take her backstage for 45 minutes while these other guys just sit there doing nothing is ludicrous. Does Alex Jones write this stuff?

Also what is this show supposed to be? The guesses on this blog are Rocky Road of which she was in one episode that aired around a year prior to her death & Charles In Charge which she was never even in & neither of those, nor any other show she was in was an all child cast. Never heard so much garbage & people actually believe this?
