Adam Sandler In Talks for "Candy Land" Film
Candy Land Movie: Adam Sandler Attached To Star In Film Based On Hasbro's Board Game
1/31/12 Adam Sandler is about to destroy your childhood memories (well, maybe not yours, Armond White). According to Variety, Sandler's production company, Happy Madison, is in final talks with Hasbro to develop a movie based on the classic board game "Candy Land" with Sandler set to star. (Jack and Jill scribe Robert Smigel would be co-writing the script with Sandler; Kevin Lima would direct). "The creative talent on board for this movie is amazing and we are excited to bring alive the world of Candy Land for kids and families everywhere," Hasbro President and CEO, Brian Golner said in a press release. Back in May of last year, it was reported that screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger (Kung Fu Panda 2) were planning to turn Candy Land into a feature film. "We envision it as 'Lord of The Rings,' but set in a world of candy,” Aibel told EW at the time. No word if Sandler and Smigel plan on keeping that vision with their draft, but -- if so -- expect to Rob Schneider as some sort of candy-loving Gollum. http://news.moviefone.com/2012/01/31..._1244948.html? |

Mike Myers (another SNL alumnus) adapting Dr. Suess' Cat in the Hat is uncomfortable with this idea!
