It's not surprising they lost 20 percent of its audience considering they chop their shows down to 19-20 minutes which is unfortunate because
they have some decent shows (Designing Woman, Ned and Stacy, Samantha Who?, Veronicas Closet, Cybil),

Wow.
I know some don't like to watch TG channel because they chop up shows but I've really enjoyed the shows mentioned above.
I wish I could afford to buy it, I'd turn it into one heck of a retro channel!

I think most people don't watch it because they think it's still a TV listings channel, which is obsolete in this day and age of on-screen guides. I know that where I live, they dropped the listings a year or two ago.

The reasons I don't watch the channel: 1.) they chop the crap out of their shows, and 2.) most of what I watch is in HD.

I know that TV Guide airs different shows. I used to watch it when Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Hills was on. Everytime I try to watch it, they are in commerical. Is that possible? They do tend to chop the hell out of the shows and the fact that the tv listings still take up a 1/3 of the screen annoys the hell out of me.

Ok I just turned to TVGuide Channel to analyze and from what I see

1. I see they air Designing woman at 12 midnight

2. I don't see a onscreen guide like I normally do

3.They air movies every weekday night from 8pm to 12am

I may check out designing woman

I'm surprised 84,000 viewers still watch the channel.

Default CBS, Discovery considering buying TV Guide Network Options

CBS, Discovery in TV Guide net
By CLAIRE ATKINSON

The TV Guide Network, which is up for sale along with its companion
site, is drawing interest from potential suitors Discovery
Communications and CBS Corp., The Post has learned.

Lionsgate Entertainment owns the TV Guide channel, brand name and
online property TVGuide.com, along with JPMorgan’s private-equity arm,
One Equity Partners. TV Guide magazine is owned by Open Gate Capital,
founded by Andrew Nikou.

The Post has learned, however, that Nikou, 34, has joined the bidding
for TVGuide.com.

Lionsgate and One Equity hired boutique investment bank Moelis to
explore a sale of the network in January after putting the Web site on
the auction block last year.

Discovery’s cable channels include Animal Planet and TLC in addition
to the flagship Discovery Channel. Beyond premium channel Showtime,
however, CBS has far less exposure to the cable business.
Both firms declined to comment.

Sources familiar with the talks said the channel could fetch as much
as $350 million, with the site going for closer to $50 million.

Whether Lionsgate goes ahead with a sale of the channel depends on the
price, although JPMorgan appears committed to selling, sources said.

TV Guide is complete trash and most of the syndicated stuff they show is probably cheap to air. Why is it that TVG and Reelz Channel can still run both Ned and Stacey and Wings into the ground? USA Network did that for nearly a decade straight.

I happen to like Wings, it's better than most of the syndicated stuff that airs. My cousin introduced it to me on Netflix over Thanksgiving and I'm happy Reelz is airing it for new fans like me.
