I just learned that my father, Johnnie Clay, Jr. had passed away at the age of 69 while in Texas. His aunt called while my mom and I were out to tell us that he was found unconscious. A couple of days prior, he was hospitalized but he seemed to be on good enough spirits when he called. He was planning on driving back home to San Jose on Monday. My dad has had numerous health issues in recent years regarding his blood pressure and heart (he was also a borderline diabetic). My mom is somehow, hanging in there but we have to tell my two older brothers what happened (one in Southern California and another in Austin, TX). I don't know how I'm going to be able to function in the short-term without my dad managing the household. I'm just incredibly numb and in sheer disbelief right about now.

My deepest condolences on your loss. The loss of a parent is just...beyond anyone's capacity to understand unless you have been there yourself, and I have been, twice, unfortunately.
Take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time. You will get through it. Use the fact that your dad would WANT you to get through it to help you. You have my prayers and best wishes. |

How Awful.
I am so sorry and right before the Holidays too. You and your family have my deep sympathies and prayers. I lost my Mom 9 years ago last month so I know what you're going through. Hang in there and God Bless.
