ABC doesn't seem to care that NFL games provide the best platform imaginable to promote/advertise prime time entertainment programming (like when Fox first got the NFL back in '94) If you ever get a chance to read the ESPN book (Those Guys Have All the Fun), in goes into great detail regarding how ABC/ESPN/Disney really dropped the ball when it came time to renegotiate the NFL TV rights. To make a long story short, they overpaid (once they learned that NBC had won the Sunday night rights, when Disney previously didn't think that anybody else would seriously bid on that particular package) for a weaker (schedule wise) Monday Night Football. ESPN felt that not having the live NFL games in some shape or form would be terrible for the "brand". |

I haven't seen Monday night football since they went to a cable channel. I am not going to pay for something that was originally free.

SUNDAY NIGHT is when the BEST MATCHUPS are televised not Monday Night. I thought everyone knew that
In 2011, Sunday Night is the NEW MONDAY NIGHT while Monday Night is the NEW SUNDAY NIGHT |

Isn't every NFL team guaranteed at least one prime time appearance?
I read that somewhere a while back and that would explain the lacluster matchups. |

No, losing teams are not on Sunday or Monday Night that much. You rarely see these teams on MNF Browns Rams Bills Texans Chiefs |

Prime-time also includes the American Thanksgiving and the Thurdsay night match-ups.
So, I'm sure some of the teams you listed will be on at that time which would count as their prime-time matchup. |

I wonder if the NFL is punishing ABC/ESPN for moving Monday Night Football from network TV to cable?

No matter how you look at it a national tradition got butchered.
It should be on ABC at 9:00 with a schedule comparable to the Sunday night games. And with top announcers. (no offense to the ESPN crew, I like them). I can't believe a generation will grow up with this bastardized version of Monday Night Football. Any chance it will go back to ABC? |

Just checked The Bills and Browns are the only teams in the NFL this season not to have a Thursday Night Game, Sunday Night or Monday Night game |
