This list pisses me off! Wings and Hey Dude are two of my favorite shows.

Always thought Friends was overrated but the rest of the shows I either didn't watch or thought were funny.

although some of the shows on the list were over-rated (Friends, Home Improvement) several of them didn't belong there and there were many more worse shows in that time period.

This is one of the worst lists I have ever seen. Even if you think some have been overpraised, none of them aren't terrible. Plus, the list is inaccurate at points as well.

Mad About You was a smart and witty comedy with great performances from the two leads. They were hardly "always in bed" as the article says. In fact, it was one of the more authentically New York shows.

Home Improvement wasn't the best written show but it was certainly fun.

Wings was occasionally boring but it had its moments and a good ensemble. It may have been the poor man's Cheers but it was still good.

Coach had many funny moments and it was not mostly about him adjusting to his daughter's romantic life as the article said. I swear this writer hasn't even seen some of these shows. And Craig T. Nelson isn't doing anything except ranting on Glenn Beck's show? What about Parenthood?

Friends seems to have a very divided response on here but I LOVE it. I think it is brilliantly written and acted with very well developed characters. There's a reason it was one of TV"s most popular shows of all time. Plus, in another case of the writer being wrong - 4 season finales were not about Ross and Rachel.

Coach, Mad About You, and Home Improvement were 3 of the best 90s shows. They weren't anywhere near terrible. I agree Coach is no Friday Night Lights, it's much better.

Sadly almost all of those are shows I watched religiously and LOVED a lot. (Except Kenan and Kel).

Yeah, this list was really awful. Fine if it's that one guy's opinion but they should make that clear because, to us, it sounds kind of ridiculous. Friends and Home Improvement are two of my favorite sitcoms - I could rewatch those forever.

While I agree that Kenan & Kel were better suited for improv, I've always liked the show and think that, for what it was, it was pretty good. The list shouldn't compare broadcast sitcoms with a show geared towards kids and teens on Nickelodeon.

Friends, in general is very divided in terms of how people react to it, but in now way is it one of the worst sitcoms of the 90's. The fact this list made no mention of many of the awful shows to come out of UPN's first three years or FOX's early days is moronic. Not to mention half the stuff that aired after friends and seinfeld (Suddenly Susan, Caroline in the city, union square, et all)...

BTW, I love Friends, it had a lot of witty, funny moments and had compelling characters.

Question

I can say that I've never heard of "Dave's World".

How popular was/is this show?

Personally I'll take Caroline in the City over Friends any day.

It was ranked in the top 20 during the first two years I believe. It was part of CBS' Monday night comedy lineup in the early 90's. Harry Anderson went on Dave's World a year after Night Court had ended.
