I do not share their opinions. Especially the ones about Data. How was he irritating? He was designed to become more human as he encountered humans and it seemed to me that was what he was doing. He even made his version of a baby (Lal) he eventually recieved an emotion chip from his creator which LaForge had to install, and that made him more human. And what was it that Spock said to Data in 1 episode when he found out Data was trying to be more human?
"There are Vulcans that strive all their lives to achieve what you've been given by design." He was essentially the hero that required no glory or recognition. How is that irritating? He saved the lives of the crew and the enterprise on many occations. He was so strong that even the Borg couldn't beat him in one to one combat. I myself loved Data. |

I disagree with almost all of this. The only thing that I would have to agree with is that it is true that TNG did take less risks than either TOS or DS9. Its also true that the Borg became overused but that was because of Voyager and not TNG!
