Music Howard Stern Extends SiriusXM Deal for 3 More Years

Howard Stern Re-Ups with Sirius for Five More Years
Dec 9, 2010
by Joyce Eng

Howard Stern has signed a five-year contract to remain with Sirius XM, ending speculation that the shock jock might leave the station.

Stern announced the news on his show Thursday, but did not disclose the terms of the deal.

The host had been in negotiations for months, as his original deal was set to expire Dec. 31.

Earlier this week, Sirius XM chief financial officer David Frear said Stern would most likely have to take a pay cut if he were to stay. Stern, in his typical colorful way, made it clear on his show Tuesday that he would not take a pay cut.

Stern has been with Sirius since December 2005, when he signed a five-year contract for $500 million.

Howard Stern Announces 5-year Deal with Sirius XM
by The Associated Press
Dec 15, 2015

Howard Stern is staying with Sirius XM for at least another five years.

The satellite radio network also has access to Stern's audio and video library for 12 years under a new working agreement announced Tuesday. The library includes performances, specials and shows that have taken place during Stern's more than 30-year broadcasting career.

Plans for the video component of the deal will be announced at a later date, but will include video of The Howard Stern Show, archives and special programming.

Stern will continue to broadcast live on SiriusXM's Howard 100 channel and produce his Howard 101 channel, which includes episodes of The Howard Stern Show as well as special programming.

Stern launched his two satellite radio channels in 2006.

Shares of SiriusXM Holdings Inc. rose 12 cents, or 3 percent, to $4.12 in morning trading. They are up almost 18 percent so far this year.

In June Stern announced that he would no longer serve as a judge on NBC's reality show, "America's Got Talent."

Howard Stern Extends SiriusXM Deal for 3 More Years
by Mekishana Pierre
December 16, 2025

Howard Stern isn't leaving his longtime radio show anytime soon. On Tuesday, the legendary disc jockey revealed that he extended his contract with SiriusXM for another three years for "The Howard Stern Show".

Stern announced the news during his latest episode. "I'm happy to announce that I've figured out a way to have it all," the 71-year-old told his listeners. "More free time, and continuing to be on the radio. So yes, we are coming back for three years."
