i was wondering did mr powell and buddy lembeck ever get along it seemed mr powell did not like buddy at all or want him in his house but did they ever get along as she show went on im wondering thanks

becourse of the personilty clushes they had if you watch between the seans things are not always what they seam at first
if you are refaving to a missing/seen before eps
buddy lemback got so unsmart he forget that mr powell was still in the yesterday cafe buddy accidenlty burn down while was cooking and mr powell was traped inside
you can see buddy's life flesh in from of his eyes while mr powell crushes his own fineral
thats how buddy/mr powell become good friends

I love Charles in Charge!
And yeah- Buddy and Mr. Powell had an interesting relationship. Even though Mr. Powell constantly put him down, Buddy always respected Mr. Powell and the family and many times helped pitch in with things. (A lot of the time it was to help Charles with his work, but it was also just because Buddy genuinely cared about the Powells as well.) And to be fair, every now and then Buddy got in a few barbs at Mr. Powell as well. Though they constantly went back and forth with that, you always knew that deep down they cared about each other. (Also keep in mind that Charles himself, though he was Buddy's best friend, also got mad at Buddy and put him down a number of times as well in commenting about his apparent stupidity on some things.)
But just check episodes like "Getting In" to see the depth of Charles and Buddy's friendship- or "A Fish Called Buddy".
And as for Mr. Powell's and Buddy's relationship- "The Buddy System" is probably one of the best episodes for that- also, "Buddy in Charge", where Buddy takes over Charles' responsibilities to the kids when Charles is away for a while and even Mr. Powell is impressed at the good job Buddy does with his grandchildren.
This is a similar pattern that is seen in other shows as well- take "Full House" for instance, with the relationship between Danny and Kimmy and Jesse and Kimmy. (Honestly, Joey is so easygoing I can't recall too many, if any real run-ins he has with Kimmy.) But you have the same scenario of her being DJ's best friend, whom Stephanie and Michelle both rag on at times [like how the Powell kids do with Buddy at times] and even DJ comments on Kimmy's ditziness at times. Yet, ultimately, they all know deep down that they care about each other- and this is particularly seen in the "Taking the Plunge" episode of "Full House".
And of course, this pattern is in place for almost the entire run of "Family Matters" (past Season 1 basically- although we have the threads of it starting in the latter episodes of that season) with the relationship of Steve and Carl- though honestly, none of the kids would hardly count themselves as Steve's friend- he's their neighbor and they put up with him, though in time they do develop a real friendship and they essentially adopt him like a brother.
And I'm sure there are even more examples of this theme. In any case, the relationship between Buddy and Mr. Powell is always funny to watch- and so is the whole "Charles in Charge" series.

I just came here to ask, was Walter always supposed to be kind of a resident antagonist/villain on the show? Like others have said elsewhere, Walter always seemed like a grumpy, crusty and mean old man. He in essence, always seemed to view Charles as noting more than some punk kid who posed a threat to his granddaughters.

It when you think about it, would've made more sense for Walter to look after the kids instead of Charles. I mean, he was presumably retired, so it wasn't like he had anything else better to do. When Charles worked for the Pembrokes, it made much more sense for Charles to be in the house, since both of the parents worked.
