What I mean from this surrounds a single episode of a particular sitcom which will forever leave a seriously bad taste in the mouth. For example, I always hear about this child molesation episode from Different Strokes which involved Gordon Jump AKA The Maytag Man as the special guest star. I suppose that you can say that this primarily has something to do with the single worst episode of a sitcom's history.

And/or perhaps the episode that was the definitive moment in terms of the show "jumping the shark." In other words, the first major sign of a show's ultimate downfall. Note, that banned episodes (whether its in syndication heaven or during its first run) aren't included by the way.

On Facts of Life, when Mrs. Garret got married and beverly Anne moved in.

On Punky Brewster, when Punky, Cherie and Margo enter a beauty contest and CHERIE wins!
