Default 11 Most Disappointing TV Shows of the 2000s

http://www.11points.com/TV/11_Most_D...s_of_the_2000s

This list is devoted to shows that could've been good, should've been good, might've been good... but, unfortunately, fell way, way short.

11. "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (NBC, 2006)

10. "XFL" (NBC, 2001)

9. "FlashForward" (ABC, 2009)

8. "Dane Cook's Tourgasm" (HBO, 2006)

7. "The 1/2 Hour News Hour" (FOX News, 2007)

6. "Listen Up!" (CBS, 2004-2005)

5. "Carnivale" (HBO, 2003-2005)

4. "Hit Me Baby One More Time" (NBC, 2005)

3. "Quintuplets" (FOX, 2004-2005)

2. "Last Comic Standing" (NBC, 2003-2008)

1. "The Casino" (FOX, 2004)

How about every reality show since "Survivor".

People had high hopes for Dane Cook's Tourgasm?

Really?

I think the only people who liked the XFL were the pinheads who invented the XFL.

Listen Up was a good show, it doesn't belong on the list.

I DON'T LIKE FLASHFOWRD. THE FIRST FEW EPSIDOE WERE OK. IT JUST BECAME BORING. IT WASN'T ANY GOOD. I VOTE FOR CAVEMAN FROM GEICO COMMERICALS. THEY MADE TV SHOW OF IT.

i DON'T LIKE THE GOOD WIFE. IT LOOKS STUPID. I HOPE THEY CANCLE IT.

I DON'T LIKE DEPSRTE HOUSE WIFE OR LOST.

I don't see how Cavemen would fit under this list as nobody thought it would be a good show.

Also, The Good Wife, how can you hate it if you haven't watched it? All you said was it looks stupid.

I agree about LOST. Worst show ever.

"Heroes" definitely needs to be on this list.

I thought Carnivale was pretty good for the most part. But I agree with 70s show watcher Boomtown should be on that list.

Carnivŕle was an excellent show.

The budget and low ratings really screwed them over. Fans didn't tune in as much for Season Two, because it was a 12 month gap, and the show's producers refused to lower their budgets to $2 million an epsiode.

Boomtown was okay at first, but it slowly got worse. We should just pretend that season 2 didn't even happen. It could have been a good show, but it just wasn't delivered correctly. Lana Parrilla was pretty good in it, though.

I'd add My Name is Earl to that list. I loved the idea of it and enjoyed the first season, but then I lost all interest.

XFL was a huge mistake and a huge joke!

I remember seeing a picture of an XFL blimp crash-landing into the water and I thought that's exactly what was gonna happen to the XFL and sure enough it sanked lower than the Titanic!

In fact up until a few years ago, the XFL garnered the lowest ratings in the history of primetime TV.

I would edit that to say including Survivor! That's when I knew that TV was really going downhill.

The most disappointing show for me would be "Secret Life of the American Teenager" I had such high hopes for it, especially when I saw that Molly Ringwald was in it.

At the time, the XFL seemed like an intriguing enough of a concept. At the time, NBC didn't have any National Football League coverage (having lost the AFC package to CBS following the 1997 season). The NFL itself, had long had the reputation of being the "No Fun League" due to them looking down on excessive celebration/showboating (that the TO's and Ochocinco's of the world are (in)famous for). Combined with WWE (or WWF as it was still officially known as at the time) going through its biggest boom period since the Rock 'n Wrestling/Hulkamania era during the 1980s. Dick Ebersol, the head honcho at NBC Sports had also previously worked with Vince McMahon on Saturday Night's Main Event.
