Eek Jon Lovitz Still Believes Andy Dick "Murdered" Phil Hartman

Everyone who has ever heard of Andy Dick wants to punch him in the face. So when Jon Lovitz gave Dick a proper beat-down in 2007 at Hollywood’s Laugh Factory, we all felt a twinge of jealousy. The incident bolstered people’s opinion of the Lovitz considerably, especially since his punch had purpose. Lovitz had been a colleague of Phil Hartman’s from their early days in the Groundlings comedy troupe and their years together on Saturday Night Live, and many people close to the situation partly blame Dick for Hartman’s 1998 murder at the hands of his cokehead wife (Dick had supplied her with drugs). Plus, Dick had reportedly threatened Lovitz by saying, “I put the ‘Phil Hartman hex’ on you—you’re the next one to die,” which is enough to piss anyone off. Months after the brawl, Lovitz opened a comedy club in San Diego to rave reviews, and the place remains a success today. Go watch this stand-up guy do some standup comedy.

Andy Dick, the bit actor and sometimes comedian, spent the mid-to-late ‘80s developing his improv skills and honing a stand up routine. This led to regular television roles and sometimes movies. But this wouldn’t last long, because he had a raging addiction, that made him the absolute worst friend to have in Hollywood.

Same.

Although he also says, if Breanna wanted cocoaine, she could have gotten it from a different source too.

People on Reddit for the most part, seem to hold the opinion that Andy Dick at the end of the day, is more responsible for Phil's murder instead of the actual murderer, Brynn. At the end of the day, Brynn was a grown woman and was presumably, responsible for her own actions. She was the one, not Andy who pulled the trigger.

I think people want to go after Andy because Brynn is dead and now can't be brought to justice or held accountable. So, Andy is being prosecuted so to speak by proxy. Brynn was already a very troubled and disturbed individual well before her fateful encounter with Andy Dick. When Phil and Brynn's first child was born, Phil's ex-wife Lisa Jarvis sent them a congratulatory note. Brynn's response to all of this was to send Lisa this vile, deranged message back that was basically threatening and warning Lisa.

Brynn just strikes me as a gold-digger and grifter, who was always desperately looking at her husband for a come up in show business despite having no discernable talent, ambition, or networking skills. Brynn just wasn't content on getting a "real job" or merely being perceived as Phil's trophy wife and mother to his kids.
