Post Anybody besides me like this show?

Did anybody out there besides me actually find the 'Jeff Foxworthy Show' mildly funny? Maybe it's because I'm from the south, but I thought it was a nice little show that could've done better had it been given more time.

Cool

Sure, I enjoyed this show alot. I think I liked the second version (with Ann Cusak as his wife) a little better than the first.

I thought the first version (ABC) was funnier. The NBC version I didn't care for much. I think it was the children on that version I didmn't like.

I live in Massachusetts, but I liked TJFS. I was disappointed when it was canceled in 1997. I would have liked to see it continue for at least two or three more years, but unfortunately that wasn't to be.

Default This leads me to an interesting "what-if"

What if the Foxworthy show survived? Would Haley Joel Osment have gone on to be such a huge movie star, or would he have continued to do television?

I wonder If Season 2 is coming to dvd?

I do like this show a lot, but over the course of the first season A LOT of things change, and in the season 1 finale they said they had a baby girl, then he has a new wife & a new baby son..this show had some weird things happen to it...

That's something I've wondered about, too. He may have still gone on to do movies, and become more well-known that way. I remember thinking back to this show when he was in The Sixth Sense.

It was O.K. Nothing to write home about, but it was good for a few laughs. I
like his standup routines better, though.

I have the first season, which I got at Wal-Mart for $5.00. I forgot how many times I've watched it. I think my #1 fave episode was `Jeff And Ray And Rascal's Big Adventure', primarily because of Harry Morgan.

I'd like to get the second season, but no such luck. Hopefully, either Wal-Mart or Big Lots might have it.

Season 2 is readily available at most online retailers such as Amazon. Under $20 in most cases.

I liked the show. I was in HS at the time it aired, and had been enjoying Jeff's comedy for years so I knew what I was getting. I think if they had done a hybrid of Seasons 1 and 2 they may have had something.

Where Season 1 failed was that they were living in Indiana. Everything else worked for me, the wife, father in law, the guys in the business with Jeff, it all worked, even Jay Mohr as the crazy brother.

Where Season 2 failed was I forget her first name but her last name was Cusack as Jeff's wife.

Had they used the original cast from Season 1, and brought in G.W. Bailey for his part they would've had something. The season 2 wife just left me flat.

Oh yeah, another great thing about Season 2 I think they moved it to Georgia which with Jeff you HAD to do.

Some good insights for what "went wrong" w/ both versions (the ABC and NBC versions respectively):
Good intentions, but troubled execution

Another Victim of Network Suit Madness

Why the Show was Canceled

WHY DID IT TANK SO BAD?
