David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are Still Interested in 3rd "X-Files" Movie
SCULLY TALKS X-FILES 3
X-Files News stumbled on to a little news bite that was hanging out on foreign website Dnevnik. "Of course I would accept to play in a new (third) "X-Files" movie", she said for Dnevnik.hr during the chat with the media and the audience at the last press conference of this 15th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival. With this statement, the actress wanted to let people know that she's not bothered with the fact that most of the people call her "Agent Scully" which she has played over a decade in a tv-show and the two feature movies. The third movie, according to her, is in early stages and should be filmed by 2012!" While they work to confirm the story, here at Bloody Disgusting we can tell you that there is in fact talk about doing another, even though the last film, I Want to Believe, was rated at 32% on Rotten Tomatoes. But looking at the box office number, it's no surprise that they're talking a third film as it took in over $68m worldwide. Something we can add to the story is there is talk of a REBOOT. Are you surprised? Nothing is set in stone, all should be taken as rumor until confirmed. http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/17139 |

Rebooting the X-Files is an absolute blasphemy. Where on earth will you ever again capture the lightning in a bottle that Carter, Duchovny and Anderson captured 17 years ago?
I'd like to take the word "reboot" and boot it straight out of the freakin' universe!

I wouldn't mind if they did a third X Files film but we'll just have to wait to see if it becomes reality.

Yes, I also wouldn't mind a thrid film. But I would want it to stay true to the series. And I'm hoping it could be more excited than the lastest one. Not that it was awful, I did see it the day it came out and own the DVD (b-day present last year) but it wasn't my favorite. I still prefer the series. Although it's just not the same without them in the FBI. But I don't mind Scully being a doctor at a hospital, that, of course, is awesome, but maybe Mulder could go back to his 'psychology' stuff?
I would love to see 'em back in DC! *smiles* And I really, REALLY want to see William back!!!! |

The following is an excerpt from an interview with David Duchovny from The Daily Beast. I took the part where he mentions the third film.
"However, Duchovny looks forward to filming a third X-Files film in the near future. “As far as the "X-Files" movie I’d like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy. I think it’s natural for "The X-Files" to have another movie in 2012, so we’ll see if we get to do it.” He defends last year’s widely panned I Want to Believe, as well as the polarizing last few seasons of the television run: “I was happy with it… I have nothing but respect for Chris Carter and the writing staff.”" See the full article here - http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-a...-and-off/full/ |

Stars, Director Long to Reunite for Third X-Files Mystery
Wednesday, January 12, 2011 By: MrDisgusting Two and a half years later David Duchovny wants to make another "X-Files" movie, so says Show Biz Spy. The Hollywood actor says he’s keen to reprise his role as Agent Fox Mulder for a third flick in the franchise. “I’m always game. It always rides on Fox. Chris Carter is game. I know Gillian Anderson is game. We all, at this point, love the show. We all, at this point, would love to work with one another again. We’re all good friends and miss one another, and miss working together. We worked together so hard for so long, so closely. We had some ups and downs personally, sure. But in the end, they are really like family to me. We’re all like this little X-Files family and I, for one, would love to continue. And I think there’s a lot left in the show. You know? And I think we can continue to make good movies. It’s just a matter of spending enough on a movie that can compete in the summertime. We made a movie and released it in the summer, but it wasn’t really a blockbuster movie. And it got kind of overshadowed by the bigger ones. So, we’re saying, make us big. We’ll fight with the big boys.” http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/23014 |

Gillian Anderson on Third X-Files Movie
Source: Bleeding Cool Sept. 6, 2011 Gillian Anderson was interviewed by an Australian program and she addressed the talk of a third X-Files feature film: "We're hoping to...that's something that we’ve said from the beginning, that we’d be interested in doing it if it ever came up again. I know that there are some discussions about it, I have no idea at what stage. There might a script, or how interested Fox is in doing it. We’re all hoping that it’s something that might take place. But they better hurry. 2012, which is the perfect subject matter is coming up quickly." http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news...s.php?id=20809 |

Gillian Anderson on "The X-Files": I'm Not Done
03/29/2012 Former "The X-Files" star Gillian Anderson won't turn her back on Agent Scully. While promoting "Great Expectations" (April 1 and 8 on PBS), Anderson said she hasn't turned her back on Agent Dana Scully and the franchise that launched her career. "If a good script comes along for another film, then I’m up for it and so is David [Duchovny]," Anderson told The Daily Beast. "I don’t see any reason not to do it if the script is good and Fox wants to go ahead and put the money behind it," she said. However, Anderson said she's unaware if Fox is even interested in a third "X-Files" flick. But if they were, she said, "I’d be up for it." While that ship may have sailed, Anderson is taking part in something else that should please fans of "The X-Files": a reunion. Anderson, Duchovny and Carter will reunite on Fox's 25th anniversary special. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0..._1388365.html? |

David Duchovny Talks About a Possible Third X-Files Movie and What Went Wrong with The X-Files: I Want To Believe
by Christina Radish Posted: August 9th, 2012 Earlier today, I had the opportunity to sit down with David Duchovny at the members-only Soho House in West Hollywood to chat about his indie feature Goats. In the comedy, he plays Goat Man, a goat-herding sage who has lived with Ellis (Graham Phillips) and his New Age hippie mother (Vera Farmiga) since Ellis was a child, teaching him the meaning of expanding one’s mind. While we will run the full interview tomorrow, we did want to share what Duchovny had to say about the possibility of a third X-Files movie, especially after what writer/producer Frank Spotnitz told me about it a week ago. Clearly up for it, he said that he doesn’t understand why Fox isn’t more enthusiastic to get it going, when it’s a homegrown action franchise that they own, and he talked about where he thinks the second film went wrong. When I spoke to Frank Spotnitz about a week ago, he said that he feels it’s a cultural crime that you guys haven’t gotten to finish The X-Files story, and that he doesn’t think it’s too late to do, but that it will be, if it’s not done soon. How do you feel about it, at this point? Have you closed the book on The X-Files, or would you like to continue it with a third film? Do you know something I don’t know? Am I dying? No. That book doesn’t close until somebody dies, really. One of the greatnesses of the show was its open-endedness. It was about possibility. It wasn’t about closure. It just couldn’t be. There is no such thing as that story ever ending. Those characters are forever searching. That’s what they do. Even if we’re not watching them, they’re out there, in some dimension. Mulder and Scully are still doing their thing ‘cause that’s their nature. I would love to do another film, or more. I think we’re all game for it. I know I’m kind of perplexed that Fox isn’t more enthusiastic. Here’s a homegrown property that you don’t have to go buy, like ****in’ Green Lantern or something, to make it. Here you’ve got an actual action franchise that’s your own. It’s weird to me, but I’m not an executive. I don’t know if they made the Green Lantern either, but I’m just using that as an example of, “Why make that film? Why not make a homegrown franchise that is excellent, and that has proven to be excellent and interesting?” I don’t get it, but that’s not my business. I think Chris [Carter] is probably working on an idea, so we’ll see. Unfortunately, with the last one, they didn’t spend the money to compete in a summer fashion, and they brought it out in the summer. It should be a summer film. It should be an action film. But, the last one we made was not. The last one we made was a dark, contemplative, small $25 million film. It was basically an independent film. When you come out against Batman, it’s not going to happen. You’re not going to be sold as an independent film, and you’re not going to compete against Batman with $25 million. http://collider.com/x-files-3-movie-...chovny/187920/ |

David Duchovny Talks Third "X-Files" Movie, Tells "The Tonight Show" He'll Be Fox Mulder Forever (VIDEO)
02/28/2013 It seems to be a topic that will never go away. And maybe that's because everyone's always on board to make more movies in "The X-Files" franchise. David Duchovny talked about it again on "The Tonight Show" when Jay Leno asked him if there would be a third film in the series. "We always want to. Chris Carter, Gillian Anderson and I were always on board. If you want to write to FOX to get it going, do it. I'll be Fox Mulder forever." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0..._2780398.html? |

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson: "We're Open to a Third X-Files Movie"
Oct 13, 2013 by Liz Raftery Could there be a third "X-Files" movie? If stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny have anything to say about it, definitely. Speaking at New York's Paley Center for Media this weekend, Duchovny and Anderson said they'd definitely be open to reprising their characters of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully for a third film, The Associated Press reports. Duchovny added that creator Chris Carter is also interested. "All the principals are on board," Duchovny said, according to the AP. "Gillian and I want to do it, so it's really up to Twentieth Century Fox at this point." One thing Duchovny and Anderson are less sure about, however, is the fate of their two characters at the end of the last film. Duchovny said he believed Mulder and Scully had gotten married, while Anderson said she wasn't sure they had, according to the AP. (At the end of the second film, it was unclear whether the couple actually tied the knot.) http://www.tvguide.com/News/David-Du...e-1072013.aspx |
