Default Hilary Duff Responds To Faye Dunaway Attack

Duff Battles Dunaway Over Bonnie & Clyde Remake
3 February 2009 5:25 PM, PST

Actress/singer Hilary Duff has picked a new catfight with Oscar winner Faye Dunaway over her plans to star in the remake of Bonnie & Clyde. After sparring with Lindsay Lohan and Avril Lavigne in the past Duff has decided to pick on the Hollywood veteran after she poked fun at the casting of the So Yesterday singer in the update of the classic film, which she won an Oscar nomination for.

Last week, the caustic Dunaway asked, "Couldn't they have at least cast a real actress?"

And, rather than take the high road, Duff has retaliated by suggesting her fans don't know who Dunaway is.

The singer says, "I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is.

"I think it (what she said) was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now too."

Why would Hilary Duff's fans then, would be interested in seeing a movie about 1930s figures like Bonnie & Clyde?

Nothing like a good catfight. I don't care how beautiful or talented these actresses were. I think it makes them look like bitter old jealous hags when they start publicly ripping on the beautiful celebs. Hilary Duff is right too. Many young people have no clue who the stars of yesteryear are and most don't care either.

It's an interesting story. I don't see why her fans won't check it out, especially if she's paired up with a hunky co-star as Clyde.

Same reason lots of people do; just because their favorite is in it.

I understand her need to reply, and even be a bit nasty in return. However, attacking her appearance? The woman is 68 years old. That part just sounded ridiculous.

I agree. A couple of well chosen sentences would have done the trick. She went for the jugular.

I agree a lot of them will just see it because of her. Today I was reading on another site that Hillary is supposed to be in a new show this coming fall called Barely Legal which is based on the true story of young woman who became a lawyer at 18. Under the comments section a lot of people said that they are going to watch the show just for Hillary. I really don't see that show lasting. The defunct WB had a similar show back in 2005 that basically had the same premise but the main character was a guy.

I will say this...

Let's just hope Hilary Duff makes a movie that some new upcover would want to remake over 40 years since making it.

I can predict that I won't see anyone looking to touch Material Girls, Raise Your Voice, or A Cinderella Story down the road.

Yes but, Faye's face is pulled tighter than Prisilla Presley's.
