Question Great TV Shows That Hit the Wall in Season 2

In other words, what are some shows (in your humble opinion) that had a GREAT first season and unfortunately fell apart (call it "The Sophmore Jinx") when they came back? Discuss!

Mork & Mindy - dumping the dad and grandma was a HUGE mistake.

Hanging with Mr. Cooper-- no more Dawnn Lewis and the addition of Sandra Quartermann and Raven-Symone....the series lost its edge and humor IMO. Not to mention that lame "soul man" cover used for a theme song.

BIG-TIME MISTAKE!

As much as I liked the disco-fied version of the theme song in S2, that didn't help matters for S2.

And it never recovered much after S2.

I got another one:

John Larroquette Show, The - after S1, NBC dissected this show's cutting edge sparks it had in S1 by meddling with the show and dissecting it piece by piece, starting w/ S2.

What's Happening Now!! - once Fred "Rerun" Berry was dismissed from the show at the end of S1, this show already began its remaining 40 ep.+ dip to Nowheresville. To make matters worse, they brought in an unknown Martin Lawrence and it didn't help matters, either.

aftermash they actully had a pretty good first season but the network thought they knew how to quote unquote fik the show and of course took away whatever good points and charm the show had

Lost in Space ...it began as a serious Sci-fi in the first season, then became almost a kid's show in year two....year three pulled back a bit and became a happy medium of the first two seasons, but, it was too late to save it!

I forget the name but, there was a show about an adult paper boy, who lived at home, on Fox (Starring Chris Elliot). The show was kind of stupid , but, absolutely hilarious...Fox decided to fudge with the concept in season 2 and the show died soon after.

Fox pretty much did the same thing to Herman's Head, also!

^ Mikey, the Chris Elliott show was entitled Get a Life. One of its directors was none other than Tony Dow aka Wally Cleaver!!

Cool

Joan of Arcadia went downhill in Season 2. It's a shame too; that show had alot of potential and what a cast!

Get a Life was a cult show.

It didn't hit the wall in season two. The people at fox hated the show and disposed of it.

I guess Married with Children was enough to swallow.

I would say a show that hit a wall in its second season was Eight Simple Rules!! Even though it was not a mega hit it's first season. and went on for a third. That show just got too damn depressing.

^ Had John Ritter lived, that show would still be on the air today...I truly believe it.

it might have went on in a different direction for certain...

but it would not have been on today..

The two actors who played the daughters are all grown up.

It would have ran out of gas.

But we will never know since Ritter died suddenly.

^ It might have run while the kids were in college - after all, Married With Children lasted 10 years. My Three Sons ran for 12 years!! 8SR debuted in the fall of 2002, so I still think it would still be on had John Ritter lived. But as you said, we'll never know for sure.

Buffalo Bill the first season was hilarious but when they decided to make him more likable in the second season that killed it for me.

Just the 10 of Us had a wonderful first season and then it went downhill in the second season.
