Happy Late 25th Anniversarry Night Court.

I was thinking about that a while ago. Nothing spectacular to celebrate it by, either. No cool special birthday features on the DVD.

Hopefully at some point there will be a reunion. Night Court definitely deserves one.

We did have a little reunion, but it was a bit half-hearted. As much as I loved Roan Montgomery on Chuck, what I wouldn't have given to have seen a silver haired Dan Fielding!

This show is awsome... but it's sad that there wasn't even a marathon on TV for the 25th anniversary. This show doesn't come on any of the channels I have.. so I am quite sad.

It's one of those shows that got better as it became zanier and zanier, but then went too far and lost itself in it's insanity (see Drew Carey Show, The). The early seasons were dreadful, simply because the show didn't know what it wanted to be and they had no idea what cast they wanted (not entirely their fault; their elderly bailiffs kept dying, but it took them a long time to bring in Charles Robinson [not the referee, but the dude who played Mac] and Markie Post). Season Four is when it really came together and the show took off (which is when I plan on buying the DVDs).

My favorite episodes were the ones where they had to have a rapid succession of trials in one night and the show descended into what was tantamount to sketch comedy.

I'll agree about season 1 being bad, season 2 is funny though, it didnt have the permanent cast yet, but there were funny episodes. Like Bull deciding to become a pro wrestler, Dan being stuck in an elevator with a gay guy who is attracted to him, Harry being picked to give away a lottery winners prize money, Dan's parents visiting. Mac debuted in season 2, and I had a crush on Ellen Foley.

Season 3 is when the wackiness really started kicking in, Roz wasn't there yet, but I have been watching season 3 a ton since I bought it and about every episode is funny. It just came out on DVD so at the very least you could rent it to find out.

My point is that while season 1 deserves the apathy it gets, It does have some funny moments. Seasons 2 and 3 are very funny, and they set the groundwork for the more absurd slapstick of later seasons.
