Why Exactly Did They Replace Nicole Paggi With Megan Fox? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I was a watcher of this show in passing when it was on tv. I never really understood why they replaced Paggi with Fox in the role of "Sydney".

Did ABC or anyone else release anything official about why they did it?

No, there has never been an official explanation regarding this cast change. There has been tons of speculation and even a few rumors but no official explanation.

I know that Kelly Ripa outed Paggi's age on Regis & Kelly as being in her 20s. It was pretty quickly after that they got the teen Fox to play a teen.

What a stupid reason (if that is the reason) to have someone replaced. Wasn't that red head from 8 Simple Rules in her twenties playing a teenager? Most shows do this...

Yeah she did play a teen. But Nicole was deffinitly better on the show.

Somebody on Reddit recently theorized that maybe Kelly Ripa saw Nicole Paggi as a threat. Ironically, at least physically, Nicole looks more plausible to be Faith Ford's daughter than Megan Fox.
