Question Similar to Small Wonder, girl with magic powers...

There was this show in the 80's maybe 90 or 91. It was about this girl that could freeze time by putting her index fingers together. One of her parents (I think her mom) was from another planet and she communicated to them through a crystal every night. Not a whole lot else I remember except most of the scenes were in their house (mainly the living room) and the theme song was something like "..Would you like to swing on a star, carry moonbeams home in a jar..."

HELP! This is driving me nuts!

If can, e-mail me: pizzacutie@hotmail.com

Cool

Thats right it also starred Donna(Angie)Pescow as her mom and Burt Reynolds voice only as Troy Maureen Flannigan's Evie's Alien dad. You only sees a strange light when her cube he gave her opens and they talk to each other from his planet to her here on Earth.

I remember it, it was one of those first run syndicated shows that aired in the hours before prime time shows.

It's actually closer to Sabrina the Teenage Witch (the version with Melissa Joan Hart) when you really think about it. Both Evie and Sabrina never told their friends about their secret which is different today where they would have. They learned their powers over time but always tried to do the right thing.

Here are some further similarities:
  • Evie is told my her human mother on her 13th birthday party that her father is an alien and she begins to discover her magic powers
  • Sabrina is told by her aunts that her father is a witch from a different dimension on her 16th birthday party and begins to discover her powers
  • ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Evie and Sabrina are both blondes, probably just a coincidence, but still a similarity.
  • ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Evie has a cube her father gave her for her 13th birthday that allows her to connect to her alien side (more specifically her father)
  • Sabrina has a cat named Salem who she talks to and who knows of her heritage (her aunts are magical too, but for the everyday teenage secrets Salem she talks too)
  • ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Evie misses her chance to see her father at some point
  • Sabrina misses a chance to see her father and her mother (who has been on an expedition)
  • -----------------------------------------------------------------------
  • In the first season of both shows, we see Evie and Sabrina abusing their new found powers
  • -----------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Both shows had episodes where Evie and Sabrina made a clone of themselves so they can be at two places at once (Evie's was her bad girl side unleashed, while Sabrina's was just a stupid clone who can only say 3 lines)
