Actually, it's a clip from an old variety show episode from the late-1970s, I presume!

it was aired one time on tv a few months after STAR WARS hit the screens
it was such a total mess that George Lucas vowed never ever to air it or release it at all

really badddddddd

thankfully, a lot of us have copies from that 1 airing so the special lives on!!!!

a friend burnt me the Holiday Special on DVD awhile back, let's say there's a reason why Lucas doesn't want you to see it

“... I didn't know what that was about at all. I was asked to be in it by the composer of that song [“Goodnight, But Not Goodbye”]…but I had no idea it was even a part of the whole Star Wars thing…I just remember singing to a bunch of people with funny heads.”
