Post How Did Mary Frann Die?

I never knew how Mary died, but how did she? She was so young.

Yeah, she was. She died of heart failure in her sleep. I've heard at the time she was working with someone from Newhart to have her own TV show.

Question

Wasn't she an exercise enthusiast? I was very surprised to hear about her death back then because she was so young.

I think so. Yeah, it was a shock. I still can't believe it when I watch Newhart today that she's dead now.

Sad

I READ THAT IT WAS A HEART ATTACK.SHE WAS ONLY 55. VERY SAD! THERE WERE ALSO RUMORS THAT SHE WAS ANOREXIC BUT THAT WAS THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER. SO, CONSIDER THE SOURCE!

Cool

Yes Mary Frann died of a heart attack at age 55. The autopsy later revealed the heart attack was caused by an undiagnosed heart condition. What makes this story so sad is that it might not have happened if her heart condition had been diagnosed and treated.

I remember being quite shocked to hear of Mary Fran's unexpected death at such a young age. I always thought that she was so beautiful as a kid on the show and she looked great in the sweaters that she always wore.

I never really thought about the circumstances surrounding Mary Frann's death until I started reading around online about Charlie Sheen's HIV diagnosis. What does this have to do w/ Mary Frann? Well, I started coming across rumors that she really died of AIDS. I mean she did after-all, date Tim Richmond, the NASCAR driver, who died of AIDS back in 1989.

She was taken from us way too soon.

I never heard the AIDS rumor, that is wild and I have to believe, far fetched.

(Hi Bonniegirl, I am finally venturing out into other forums, LOL. )

From what I've read her relationship with Tim Richmond was more of a mutual friendship than a sexual relationship. Anyway, the night before she died she was working as a volunteer at a women's shelter and the people she was working with said she seemed normal and healthy. It is known that she was preparing to get married again sometime in the spring of 1999, so she may have been fasting and taking diet pills to get in shape.

The AIDS/HIV rumor is BS. Back then, people who had HIV succumbed to AIDS quickly since they didn't have the drug cocktails available today. People who had it looked like hell; you could literally see them waste away before your eyes. Mary Frann died of a heart ailment probably aggravated by extreme dieting and amphetamine abuse, like Karen Carpenter.
