I liked the episode where Basil was trying to prove this guy had a girl in his room.

It's typically at the top of the list of best BritComs, or SitComs in general, highly regarded by critics of such things, a real masterpiece. As most know, it's based upon the real experience of the Python's staying at a hotel, Glen Eagles I think, which was run by a person who was the basis for the Basil character.
I love the one where the guy dies overnight, Basil suspects it was a bad kipper, and they end up moving the body all over.

Not that many episodes, but maybe the funniest stuff ever!

Cleese is terrific. I just noted while watching The Omen the other night that I saw the actor who plays the stupid American who pays Basil to keep the kitchen open. What an Arsehole.

considering they only made 12 episodes one of the best brit comedeys ever penned, was written by John Cleese and Connie Booth (Polly the maid in the show) they were married at the time then they split up i believe thats why we never got any more episodes

The ******* American from the episode "Waldorf Salad" was played by Bruce Boa. (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0090124/) When I first saw the guy on Fawlty Towers, I was wondering where I saw him before. Then I realized that he was the Colonel in Full Metal Jacket.

I do not know what Mr. Boa was like in real life, but he played ******* very well.

I love this show, have it on video, I love The Germans episode with the 'German Walk'. Though I watched it recently and noticed how insulting it could be to people! The series is laugh a minute stuff!
