^ The senior episodes with Jessie, and Kelly were shot a long time before the ones with Tori. Elizabeth, and Tiffani, did not take a break when Tori came, they were through with the show.
When the gang shot the final graduating episode, the whole cast thought that was the last episode they were going to be filming, but I think that NBC later decided to shoot more episodes, but Tiffani and Elizabeth did not agree to come back, so NBC just decided to get a cheap replacement.

NBC just decided to mix the Tori eps. with the Jessie/Kelly ones becuase they wanted to make it seem as if all of them where going to school at the same time, but it just "happened to be" that Jessie and Kelly were hanging-out somewhere else, or had different classes than Slater, Zack, Screech, and Lisa.

Can you please tell me which producer you spoke with?... Because he obviously has his facts wrong. Even the official production dates can prove him wrong.

SBTB Geek, I didn't speak to a producer ! I meant that's what a producer said on the "E! Hollywood True Story"! So if it's a lie they told it!

That's how I always heard it. Kelly and Jessie filmed like 9 episodes including the Graduation episode. Then Tori came in for the rest. I just wish they would have at least mentioned something about Kelly and Jessie. They could have made them spend a semester in Paris or something, so in the Graduation episode, it's where they return just in time to graduate. That's the one thing I really didn't like about SBTB, there was no real continuity. I mean it had some, obviously. So I wonder, if the Miss Bliss years really happened to the characters or if they were supposed to be a different Zack Morris, Screcch Powers, Lisa Turtle, and Richard Belding?

And yes, I too hate that line Lisa spoke about Tory being her only best friend.

If you remember in one episode a guy saw kelly and wanted her to model for him and she did. So she had to go to Paris and Zack did not like that. She was supposed to sepnd a month in Paris. Wonder why the producers never went farther with that idea.

What happened is that Tiffaine Thissen and Elizabeth Berkely decided to leave the show when their contracts expired and everyone else decided to go on. So they taped a series finale episode with Kelly and Jessie, then they taped a whole season w/out them. Then aired the episodes w/out them before airing the finale episode that made no refrence of Tori. Hope that helps.

Default In repsonse to SBTB Geeks' post

When Lisa said that Tori was her new best friend and her "Only" best friend, she meant that Tori helped her out with the school dance that she was planning when she totally alienated everyone in the dance committee. When Lisa said that, she said because everyone dropped out of the dance committee and wouldn't talk to her due to her attitude, and Tori did bring up a good idea about the Autumn Harvest theme in Belding's office when she first came in. That episode "the New Girl" came on this morning on TBS.

So Lisa did not say that line to mean "I forgotten all about kelly and Jessie", she said it because she was desperate for ideas for the Fall Dance. That's all

The "only best friend" line was clearly a subtle in-joke at the fact Jessie and Kelly were gone. It was actually quite funny.

Interesting view point, but I just can't see it that way. I'm sure that the writers had Elizabeth and Tiffani in mind when they wrote the "joke."

Default The "Tori/Kelly-Jessie" Paradox

http://homepage.mac.com/ijball/SbtB/history.html

SbtB producer Peter Engel seems to have come up with several solutions. He appears to have decided to produce another partial season of SbtB proper in Grade 12 at Bayside, using a new female character in the place of Kelly and Jessie. This would allow them to finish the Grade 12 season of SbtB, tOS. This, in turn, would give the producers time to develop two new series for production: Saved by the Bell: The College Years, the continuation of the adventures of Zack and Screech (and Slater), and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, the continuation of the adventures of Mr. Belding and the students of Bayside High.

So, a new character was created for this "half" incarnation of "Saved by the Bell". The character's name was Tori (Leanna Creel). This introduces another continuity question: it is still Grade 12 at Bayside, so where are Kelly and Jessie? It is obvious that the "Tori" Grade 12 episodes are supposed to take place in the same time-frame as the "Kelly and Jessie" Grade 12 episodes; we know this beacuse the "Tori" Grade 12 episodes were aired concurrently (i.e. on the very same days) that "Kelly & Jessie" Grade 12 episodes were in the '92-'93 Grade 12 season on NBC. So what's going on? The way to explain away this apparent discontinuity is to say that the "Tori" episodes are taking place at the same time as the "Kelly and Jessie" episodes, but that Kelly and Jessie are "off screen". Thus, Kelly and Jessie, and Tori, must be "in different classes", and we, the viewer, are seeing Tori on different days and different nights or in different locations than when or where we saw Kelly and Jessie in their Grade 12 episodes. So why are Kelly and Jessie almost never mentioned in Tori episodes, and vice versa? And why is Lisa's hair style different in some of the "Tori" episodes from the hair style she had through the entire "Kelly & Jessie" Grade 12 year? Well, you got me! and this explanation only goes so far.

Though filmed before the "Tori" episodes, the Grade 12 Graduation episode was shown after the Tori episodes (as apparently was the Hawaii TV movie), in primetime on NBC on May 22, 1993, along with the pilot to Saved by the Bell: The College Years (see below). It was rerun, again with The College Years pilot, in the regular timeslot for the premiering Saved by the Bell-The College Years on Tuesday, September 7, 1993 at 8:00 pm EST.

Tiffani must have been thinking about continuing with the show when that photo was taken (along with others) because she wasn't in any episodes with Tori.

I guess there was a commercial way back when the show had new episodes with her, Tori, and Elizabeth. I think it's Erika who said she still had this commercial on tape. I'd love to see it.
