I love Betty White as much as anyone but I think she's too old for the part. Other than Helen Mirren my choices for Lovey would be....
Ruta Lee, she's 78 but I think she could do it The following all turn 64 this year, the same age Natalie was when she started the show. Perhaps one of them would be good for the part? Victoria Principal Morgan Fairchild Cybill Shepherd Amy Madigan Wendie Malick Nancy Allen Christine Lahti Julie Walters Kathy Baker Erin Gray Markie Post Joanna Gleason Tess Harper Linda Thompson Julie Kavner Ann Jillian |

Hope Tina or Dawn make a cameo in the remake. Both are still acting.
Tina recently jump-started her acting career after a 10 year hiatus. She has a new movie coming out and will shoot another one next month....meanwhile Dawn is doing theater and teaching acting classes. |

If we're going by appearance I always thought that Jim Caviezel at least facially looks like Bob Denver but in terms of physicality Jay Baruchel from Tropic Thunder and Knocked Up is scrawny enough to play Gilligan.
If a GI movie had been done in the 90's then Robert Hayes would've made a perfect Professor. |

Josh Gad, who’s currently writing the big-screen adaptation, tells MTV News: "“You would be remiss not to at least touch upon that in the movie. And I’ll leave it at that.” Read more at http://www.hitfix.com/tv-tattle#5F4r9zYxkDOxiHrf.99 |

I really can't imagine me even wanting to go see this movie. And if they make the Professor character gay, then there is NO WAY I will be going to see it. What even is the reason they want to make him gay? Because he didn't chase the women on the series? That was done on purpose, as was stopping any idea of any romances going on in the show! If they do make this movie, the only character that should even be considered to play the Professor is Simon Baker. If you Google Russell Johnson, they have quite a few side by side pictures of the two, and it's scary how much these two look alike! There are even crazy websites out there asking if Simon Baker is Russell Johnson's son? lol Again, not interested in this movie at all; prefer to continue to love the Gilligan Island reruns and the characters that we all grew to love on the original show! |
