No. They were trying to recreate the magic of Threes Company except with an unmarried couple and her father. Jack now is conservative and no longer a skirt chaser. Most of the shows were about the insecurities of Vicki or Jack trying to avoid women that he thought were after him.
A 9th season of Threes Company would have been a train wreck but probably better than TAC. |

Yes, I think John Ritter bears the most responsibility.
1. The fact that he even agreed to do this show means that he thought viewers only watched TC because of him. 2. I read that he handpicked the actress who played Vicky. Whether or not you cared for the character, it was not the actress fault that she was inexperienced. In a spinoff with John, his female co-star should be his acting equal. |
