Default Why Hasn't MLB Expanded to New Orleans?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKqZHUyUdSE

Quote:
Have you ever wondered why New Orleans has never landed a Major League Baseball team?

Despite hosting the Saints, the Pelicans, 11 Super Bowls, and some of the biggest sporting events in America, New Orleans is rarely mentioned as one of MLB's leading expansion candidates.

In this sports documentary, we take a deep dive into the real reasons why Major League Baseball .

We explore the city's rich baseball history, the rise and fall of the New Orleans Zephyrs and Baby Cakes, attendance challenges, market size, television reach, corporate support, stadium concerns, and how New Orleans compares with expansion cities like Nashville, Salt Lake City, Portland, Charlotte, Montreal, and Sacramento.

This isn't a video arguing that New Orleans deserves an MLB team.

Instead, it's an objective look at why one of America's greatest sports cities has struggled to become a serious expansion candidate—and whether that could ever change in the future.

This video took over 100 hours to create and has been a project I've worked on a little bit almost every day for the last month and a half. Every script, edit, graphic, animation, and visual was created by me.

I'm a one-man show, and I put a tremendous amount of time into making these sports documentaries as detailed, accurate, and enjoyable as possible.

If you enjoy sports documentaries like this, please consider subscribing. It really helps support the channel and allows me to keep creating videos like these.

In This Documentary

• Why New Orleans doesn't have a Major League Baseball team
• MLB expansion and future expansion candidates
• New Orleans Pelicans baseball history (1887)
• The Denver Zephyrs & New Orleans Baby Cakes
• Triple-A baseball in New Orleans
• Why the Baby Cakes relocated to Wichita
• MLB expansion cities: Nashville, Salt Lake City, Portland, Charlotte, Montreal & Sacramento
• Stadium economics and business challenges
• TV market size and corporate support
• Could New Orleans ever become an MLB city?

💬 What do you think?

Could New Orleans actually support a Major League Baseball team?

Or do you think MLB's next expansion franchises will go somewhere else?

I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
New Orleans is discussed beginning at the 4:46 mark in the video below.

Oh No

The Cleveland Guardians almost moved to New Orleans in the 1970's.
