Perhaps he was feeling mentally beaten down for being falsely accused for many years and harassed by law enforcement, finally found love and a "normal" life again, and the ex or new boyfriend not only left but said something that rubbed salt in the wound and caused him to snap. The fact this was a unplanned "passion" killing from someone with obvious anger issues doesn't not jive with the apparently well planned disappearance of Doreen. I'm not 100% convinced of his innocence (I would say 70/30 innocent) but this update didn't really move the needle much for me. Unfortunately we will never know either way.

it didn't move the needle for me much either. I wasn't 100%, but I thought he was guilty before the update. His behavior made him look suspicious. that doesn't prove anything, but he could have lost his temper on Doreen and only got away with it because he was able to hide her somewhere. the circumstances for the other crime may have been different which led him to being caught. to be fair I haven't looked to much into that though.

IDK, she may not have changed her mind, but I would imagine it had some type of impact. She looked very emotional in the segment. I'm not saying that she was in denial, but her body language was always odd to me. Like she knew that he was a logical suspect but defended him anyway because maybe she wanted it to be that way. Doreen had also once talked about leaving him so maybe in the back of her mind she thought that was possible and wanted it to be because she would have still been alive. I say that to say this, it could be a misread on my part. you never know how people will react when they are dealing with trauma.

Thomas Berlett, who was interviewed in the Doc and Babe Noss segment of the supposed buried treasure in New Mexico, died March 6, 2025 at age 85. Berlett was an airman who stumbled upon the treasure at Victorio Peak around 1960.

It appears that Allan Showery, murderer of Teresita Basa, died in Brooklyn in 1995, aged 48-49.

His long lost friend Judy Friedkin passed away at 82 in 2025.

Dr. Carson Gardner died 05/09/25. He was interviewed on the segment featuring Don Hamilton, the hunter who accidentally shot himself and was pronounced brain dead, but survived with few side effects. Dr. Gardner treated Hamilton at the hospital upon his arrival.

This might have already been posted, but I see where Mitchell Shigemoto died in October 2025 at age 79. He was in the segment whereby he was severely injured while fighting in Vietnam, and his life was saved by his friend James Pearson. They were reunited around 1996 thru Unsolved Mysteries.
