Ok so I have to amend my previous stance that Swint and Niqui were having an affair. Apparently, her sisters remark was misinterpreted by me and taken out of context. She (in a different article) said that Niqui looked up to Swint as a "big brother" type figure, and someone who she thought was cool. Her sister however did not like Swint and got a weird vibe from him. Here's a quote:

“I can remember incidents … I had just stopped by her house … and I heard her screaming,” McCown-Luster said.

She opened the door to see Niqui lying on a chair with her foot on Swint’s chest as he pressed himself over her.

“(Niqui) was like, ‘Help get him off of me. He is trying to rape me.’” McCown-Luster said. “And he just kind of like laughed it off like he was playing. Then he started chasing us both around the house.

“There were just so many times where he tried to do things like that. Like he was playing around. But I looked at it like, if I wasn’t there, what would have happened?”

Seems fairly obvious to me now that Swint wanted to be more than friends, Niqui probably balked at his advances, and he became angered and killed her. He was about to be arrested for another murder of a prostitute in 1991, but he killed himself just as the officers arrived.

I also believe Swint is more than likely responsible. This would also explain why Niqui's car was left at her ex-boyfriend's home: A perfect red herring.

We know that Niqui picked up her laundry and that she phoned a friend about certain hair products she wanted to find. I think it's possible that Swint, desirous of a sexual relationship with her, was following her that day and her rejection of him culminated in murder. I think there's little evidence of an affair and that she was probably afraid of him, considering the incident her sister walked in on. Seems like he was being very persistent until he ultimately attacked her.

Yeah, just because Bobby wanted to sell the ring, doesn't make him guilty. My husband and I just watched this and he said he would have sold my ring too, to raise money to find me. You can always buy the ring back! It is just a material thing..

Doesn't seem remotely strange-the laundromat outside footage showed she exited there safely-so obviously the two guys were just a pair of idiots trying it on & were long gone when she returned. That she was having an affair with Swint points to her having gone to him-possibly to call it off due to the impending marriage & he snapped & murdered her-just like he had to another woman several years earlier. Although the boyfriend seemed to be a hothead his only reason for killing her would be if he had found out about her cheating on him & that seems highly unlikely.

I don't think there was ever any evidence Niqui had an affair with Tommy Swint--but there was apparently a lot to suggest Swint had something of a fascination for her that wasn't reciprocated in kind.

Did Swint also live in that apartment complex where Niqui's car was found, or had he once lived there? I know Niqui's former boyfriend and father of her child did, but wasn't sure about Swint.

I always get a weird chill about the suspect in this one because I was just over the river in Columbus, GA the day Swint shot himself. It was all over the news that night.

According to Niqui's sister, she saw Tommy as more of a big brother figure than a potential love interest. Swint on the other hand wanted more, and his sister thought he acted very inappropriately around her, although Niqui just laughed it off.

Yes, I seem to recall that Swint did live there at one point and the father of her child living there at the time was just a coincidence.

According to Charley Project:

On the day of her disappearance, McCown tried to contact her sister several times. Her sister says McCown was seeing another man, Tommy L. Swint, whom Webster didn't know about. Her sister warned McCown to end the relationship.

If this is true (or even a rumor), I would think the cops would have brought this up when questioning Niqui's fiance Bobby, which could explain why he cancelled the wedding and tried returning the rings in the days after her disappearance. Also:

She had made a phone call to Dayton the day she went missing; she spoke to a coworker who lived about a mile from the apartment complex.

Authorities believe she drove to Dayton after leaving the laundromat and something happened to her there.

Tommy Swint was a coworker of Niqui's. And so was Tommy Swint's wife, Darlene Williams. According to this link:

Around 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Niqui calls her coworker Darlene Williams

Both Swint and Williams called out of work the day after Niqui's disappearance. And both Swint and Williams lived in Dayton, Ohio at that time.
