"Baywatch" Adds 5 to Recurring Cast

Five new recurring stars have been booked for Fox‘s new "Baywatch" series:


- Ashley Moore (I Know What You Did Last Summer) will play Jasmine, a rookie lifeguard with a lot of skills and even more attitude.

She’s the mean girl of the beach, but there’s nobody better in a crisis.



- Kylar Miranda (On Swift Horses) will play Diego, an experienced lifeguard from East LA, the handyman of the Baywatch team.



- Luke Eisner (Tall Girl) will play Koya, Luke’s (Noah Beck) best friend among the rookies. He has some surprising and quirky depths under his surfer-boy looks.



- Nadia Gray (All Rise) will play Lisa, an EMT on the team assigned to the beach, she’s a partner to the Baywatch team and friends with everyone. She has particular chemistry with one of the lifeguards.



- Charlie McElveen (Clipped) will play Ethan, a handsome and successful lawyer. He is a former colleague of Trina’s who meets with her to discuss a potential assault case.

He’s dismissive towards the case despite his offer to help, and questions why Trina cares so much.

Brooks Nader Defends "Baywatch" Casting: “Times Are Different”

As Brooks Nader prepares to make her TV acting debut in Fox’s "Baywatch" reboot, she recently addressed criticism of her casting.

The influencer and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covergirl said she’s “excited to show people what I can do,” despite backlash around the apparent stunt casting of someone with less of an acting background than her co-stars.

“I think that the times are different and everyone is so multi-hyphenate now, and you can be both an actor and an influencer and have influence,” explained Nader to the Daily Mail. “And that’s the beauty of the culture that social media has created.”




Noting how the media landscape has changed since the original show’s 1989-’99 run, she continued, “We now have platforms. I think, during the 90s, you didn’t have social media, you didn’t have Instagram or TikTok, and so people could use their voice now, and I think as long as they’re using it for good… I think that it’ll bring a vibe to the show.”

“I think that there’s so many amazing platforms and voices that are on the show, in the cast, and I think it’ll only help the series,” added Nader.

Baywatch hasn’t been kicked off Venice Beach, but there has been some “small” issues

A report that Fox’s Baywatch reboot was booted from Venice Beach after two days of production isn’t true, according to LA Material’s Julia Wick. But there have been some issues revolving around the production’s footprint, including parking. “All of these things we expect to be able to resolve,” said Constance Farrell, a spokesperson for County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, whose district includes Venice. A Fox spokesperson adds that filming on the premiere episode was completed last week at Venice Beach and the production planned to shoot at a number of Los Angeles County beaches, including Venice. “The knotty matter of jurisdiction is a complicating factor for any production filming at the beach,” says Wick. “In this case, the county oversees the actual beach, while the parking lots in use belong to the city. And the notoriously demanding California Coastal Commission is also involved in aspects of this production.”

Erika Eleniak Set to Reprise "Baywatch" Role of Shauni McClain in Fox’s Sequel Series

Erika Eleniak will reprise her "Baywatch" role of Shauni McClain in the Fox sequel series.

The actress will guest-star in the series as Shauni, a former Baywatch lifeguard-turned-Santa Monica city councilwoman. Shauni returns to the beach to help Hobie kick off the annual “Beach Games” between the reigning champions of Baywatch and the Coast Guard.

Eleniak starred in the first two seasons of the original series before departing at the beginning of Season 3.

Another new face is coming to "Baywatch". John Beckwith (Song Sung Blue) has booked a heavily recurring role opposite Jessica Belkin on Fox‘s upcoming reboot of the famous lifeguard action drama.

Beckwith will play Julian, an extremely handsome, compassionate, and sophisticated Ph.D. student who’s part of an ocean research team brought in to help Baywatch. Sparks fly and white-hot chemistry grows when Charlie (Belkin) rescues him, only to find herself drowning in his bright blue eyes.
