Starz has officially canceled the gladiator drama Spartacus: House Of Ashur after just one season. Despite a strong 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the alternate-timeline series failed to match the viewership of the original 2010s run and did not align with Starz's current strategic focus. The first and only season concluded in February 2026, ending with a climactic finale where Ashur killed Julius Caesar. Although showrunner Steven S. DeKnight already has the scripts for a second season written, its future at Starz is over. The series is not necessarily dead, however. Producers Lionsgate Television currently hold the rights to the show and are shopping it around to other platforms for a potential rescue. |
