Mayans M.C. co-creator Elgin James' plan to reboot the hit Fox series is coming closer to fruition. According to Deadline, James' version, which was first reported in November 2023, "will be its own thing set within the same universe." It is not expected to feature original Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who played brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. As Deadline's Rosy Cordero and Nellie Andreeva note, "the reboot got a boost from a Suits-like streaming resurgence for the original 2005 series, which returned to Netflix after a two-year break at the end of July for a limited, 18-month run. (All five seasons of Prison Break, remain available to stream on Hulu.)"

Hulu and 20th Television‘s "Prison Break" pilot from Elgin James is coming together as Emily Browning (American Gods), Lukas Gage (Euphoria) and Drake Rodger (Landman) have been set as series regulars.



Browning will portray Cassidy Collins, an ex-soldier turned corrections officer who takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America.

Gage will portray Jackson, a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign.

Rodger will portray Tommy, an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America, incarcerated ten years ago.

Hulu and 20th Television‘s "Prison Break" pilot has cast Clayton Cardenas (Mayans M.C., Mayor of Kingstown), JR Bourne (Mayans M.C., Teen Wolf), Georgie Flores (Dumplin, Into The Dark) and Myles Bullock (BMF, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist) as series regulars.



Cardenas will portray ‘Ghost,’ a ruthlessly dangerous inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America.

Bullock will play “Darius ‘Red’ Lewis,” an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America.

Flores will play ‘Andrea,’ one of the female cadets training to be a Corrections Officer at one of the deadliest prisons in America.

Bourne will play ‘Junior,’ a mentally unstable lone survivor of a decades-old prison break that devastated the town.

- Ray McKinnon (Mayans M.C., Deadwood) will play Joe Dahl, a private detective investigating a decade-old murder.
