Oh my gosh, I got to see The Cold Hearted Snake video today, and oh my gosh! That video IS sexual! I knew it was sexual since I was a child(But forgot how it went since I haven't seen it in over 15 years), and I even called it a "nasty" video. Geez, that "Cold Hearted" video looked strange. I used to watch it on MTV back when I was a youngster. According to this book that I have "The Magic of Paula Abdul: From 'Straight Up' to 'Spellbound'", biography writer, Devra Newburger wrote:

"Cold Hearted", her next video to appear on the scene, shook things up even more. In it, she plays a steamy sexy dancer auditioning for producers. The entire video rings familiar with the work of the late Bob Fosse, dancer-choreographer extraordinaire. And that was entirely Paula's attention. In fact, the "Cold Hearted" video was meant as a tribute to the great choreographer. One of Paula's greatest moments was when Bob Fosse compared her work with his early work. "Bob Fosse once made a comment about my choreography in a People magazine interview," Paula says. "He said that he admired my style as a young choreographer, and how I have an unpredictability in my choreography -- the ability to turn right wen everyone expects me to turn left. It was the biggest compilment I've ever received."

Doesn't Straight Up video look a little like Janet Jackson's Love Will Never Do Without You? Look at the parts where they show the closeup of Paula's face. They kind of resemble the closeups of Janet's face. And look closely at the beginning of the video of S.U. The first shot is a shot of paula, sole. The first part of LWNDWY is a shot of janet, sole too. And they are both in Black and White. They also have a few extras in the video too, less than three other people.

I remember being obsessed with Paula Abdul's Forever Your Girl and I wanted a copy and so I bought it when it was on sale at Walmart and not only did I like the album it turned me into a Paula Abdul fan. And so I researched more about her and got all three of her albums. On Forever Your Girl itself it really is a fantastic album and showed what Paula Abdul was going toward. But I think the standout track that made Forever Your Girl a hit was Straight Up and that song became one of Paula Abdul's classics but you can see why Forever Your Girl was a classic album of the 80's because Paula Abdul was unique from Jody Watley and Janet Jackson and Madonna and she really proved herself worthy of winning Grammy Awards. I do wish that Paula Abdul could release a comeback album someday because she really needs a new album and they should release an Anniversary Edition of Forever Your Girl soon as well
