With all due respect to Pat Harrington, I never cared for the character of Schneider. One redeeming quality - at least we saw him WORK once in a while, unlike Bookman (Good Times).

Schneider was one of my favorite characters on the show. He always had the best one liners.

Schneider is a great character. About 11 years ago, two friends and I were talking on a lunch break at work about the shows that we watched as kids and when one of us mentioned ODAAT, the one character we all remembered was Schneider.

Aw, he was the heart and soul of that show.

There is a reason he won that Emmy.

He could play farce and serious drama with equal ease.

Pat Harrington was a great character actor. Loved him as Schneider. I don't understand why some think his character was creepy. He was really part of the family.
