I`m guessing MASH isn`t getting the ratings it used to at 4-episodes daily M-F
& viewers complained about the removal of VAN DYKE & still had to air HOGAN`S
due to contract

Though ME-TV only changed one show for the Summer of ME last year, I believe this current schedule will get a shake-up this year
I`m surprised anyone stays up late night to watch old VAN DYKE episodes

That being the case, I don't know what their thinking is.

How do you know that?

The swiftness of the change is startling. Hogan was off the weekday schedule for less than 4 days before it was reinstated. The logical move would have been to pull Carol Burnett and place the single episode in an adjoining timeslot to the old schedule. Why interfere with MASH if it's doing well in the 6-7pm timeslot. METV has been struggling with the 6-7pm timeslot for years, if the network finally found something that works why change it?

C`mon, every series would have to fall under a rights contract. HOGAN`S HEROES must still have time on that contract so ME-TV will have to run it or lose $ spent. VAN DYKE SHOW contract must have run out but viewer complaints may have had ME-TV quickly pick it back up under another contract

As for MASH, the 6 PM timeslot may have the weakest ratings of the 2-hours so swapping in HOGAN`S would fulfill the contract

They've been showing Dick van Dyke on Catchy Comedy, also a Weigel channel, twice every weeknight at 10 ET ever since they switched to the Catchy format. They recently added a third episode in the afternoon.

Said it before, say it again - if it makes money MeTV will run it. Raymond was a big gamble - it didn't come cheap. It makes money - they would have dumped it in a second if it didn't bring in the dollars. They paid a lot to run that show, and it makes a lot of money.

They just don't know what to run behind it. I don't think the Golden Girls is a fit.

When Svengoolie retires, and it seems more and more probable - they are going to have an issue. Sven Squad won't ever bring the ratings Svengoolie does.

MeTV lives and dies with Raymond and Svengoolie.

MeTV probably negotiated running Svengoolie interstitials after he retires.

TAGS must be a cash cow anyway since they pay for 3 unaired seasons--unless they were somehow able to negotiate a special arrangement with Paramount.

Peacock only has the first five (black-and-white) seasons of Griffith; Paramount+ has all eight. I wonder if Paramount offers two syndication packages.
