Back in the day, Roseanne was progressive and this just seems like a step in the wrong direction. This just seems so out of character. Kinda stupid to tear away a character's identity for the sake of staying "relevant" and to satisfy "one half" of the country.

Also, what is with all of the back peddling? The lottery didn't happen? Now Dan's death didn't happen? Keep your story straight, Roseanne! It just seems like she's trying to cover up the terrible last season.

Also, I'm not sure if I trust Whitney Cummings. If you start off by saying the show is not [whatever], well, then it usually is. Also, I would question Cummings longevity to keep an audience; bear in mind she had her own sitcom and that lasted less than 2 years.
If she made that whole last season a dream I would be all for it.

Roseanne Barr on President Trump congratulating her: "That's the most exciting thing ever"

"It was pretty exciting, I'll tell you that much," Barr said on Good Morning America Thursday in reaction to the president of the United States calling to congratulate her on the Roseanne revival's blockbuster ratings. (White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the call took place.) Barr told George Stephanopoulos she and Trump had a private conversation since she's known him for years. "He really understands ratings and how they measure things, and that's kind of been an interest of mine too for a long time," she said.

ALSO: ABC will re-air the two-episode premiere at 7 p.m. on Easter Sunday

Roseanne Barr: No, President Trump didn't call me to thank me for my support
Barr called out Twitter for saying in its "Twitter Moments" that the president called to "thank her for her support." Barr tweeted: "THIS IS NOT TRUE! he called me to say congratulations on the ratings! get it right!"

ALSO:

Stephen Colbert mocks President Trump for boasting about Roseanne's ratings
"Wait, I haven't seen it yet, but Roseanne is about the Trumps?" Colbert asked, sarcastically. "Well, I can't wait for the episode where John Goodman blows the vacation money paying off a porn star." ALSO: Colbert calls CNN "Fake News" for mistaking his show for SNL.

I think everyone is complaining so much because its TRUMP they are talking about... I mean no one gives a rats tail about all the people archie talks about!!

Mr Trump is so hated that its hard seeing an innocent show also talk about him......

I don't think Roseanne has ever been an innocent show.

I hope this show lasts as long, if not longer, than the original Roseanne! She IS being realistic. Whoever doesn't think so hasn't seen the original show.

Season 9 wasn't a dream, but it was a novel that Roseanne created, so the lottery never happened to the Connors, it was just something Roseanne made up to "deal with Dan's death," which still doesn't make sense because Dan is alive in season 10, and even Dan acknowledges it. Although I think in this sense, the "death" could be metaphorical, in the sense that there could have been change in his characterization or personality, and that old characterization "died." That's my analysis at least, and that's the only way I can explain it logically.

Was Roseanne giving an accurate reflection of the middle and working class by portraying every man/boy on her show as a wife-beater or a pathetic weakling?
Also deregulation and issuing presidential pardons to Michael Milken, among others.
