Unsold sitcom pilot about a kid who can magically summon Rodney Dangerfield to solve his problems. A co-production of Aaron Spelling and Hanna Barbera (!)

I think I might have watched this when it aired.

I've never saw an episode, but this sounds like it may be one of those so bad it's good shows. I love Rodney.

But if the pilot was never sold doesn't that mean it never aired??

I guess that's possible, but what I think that it might mean is that it aired, but the network decided not to pick it up, so no other episodes were produced.

Edit: I looked it up and it turns out that some unsold pilots air and some of them don't.

Why wasn’t this picked up? Even if it was lousy, it was Rodney Dangerfield, and people would have watched.

I agree! It would've been good for a season or 2.

If NBC picked it up I could see it being like so many NBC family shows to be murdered by 60 minutes and JIP caused by NFL overruns.

Just don't show it on Sunday to avoid the stupid NFL.

NBC aired "Where's Rodney?" on Mon. 6/11/90. I always enjoying seeing unsold pilots. I miss when the networks aired them over the summer. I believe it is available to view on the website called dailymotion.

I would have loved it if this became a series.

Telehell: EPISODE #16-A: Where's Rodney? REMASTERED

Quote:
Our REMASTERED series continues by simply starting from scratch (Long Story). As We revisit the wrath of a TV Pilot with no rhyme or reason behind its main premise...Seriously, all these years later and I still don't get it; Why even summon Rodney Dangerfield to begin with if you don't even Bother explaining how you got that power in the first place??
