There are some real fan wants on Vol. 2, starting with A-Lad-In His Lamp, which has never been restored. This is the late 40s Bugs cartoon with a genie voiced by Jim Backus.
Other rarities -- Mexican Boarders and Wise Quackers, two rarities not shown on TV, Mouse Menace, Art Davis' first director assignment for Warners--and that is censored when shown on TV. Ain't That Ducky, often censored and was in need of restoration. Another rarity - Hop and Go, a black and white wartime cartoon which is rarely on TV and when it is it's normally censored. Also, lots of Chuck Jones Road Runners. When the titles have gone up somewhere, I'll link them. This will be up for preorder shortly after the beginning of the new year, and they are advising to order early, as they are anticipating inadequate stock. |

On Blu-Ray.com forums, someone mentioned there's a blackface gag in "Ain't That Ducky."
Not correct. There's an extremely dated and obscure reference to hairdo, that virtually no one today would even notice. |

A fantastic set of cartoons with 3 from my wish list included. "Dr. Jerkyl's Hide", "A-Lad-In His Lamp" and "I Gopher You".
"To Itch His Own" was another of my favourites that I thought was already available so a nice surprise seeing it listed. That just leaves "Caveman Inki" and "Mouse Mazurka" for volume 3.

As far as the Inki cartoons go (there are a couple of others, too), I'd like to see Warner do something with their out-of-circulation cartoons. Since they did that with a recent Tom and Jerry set, I'd say there's hope.
A lot of other cartoons are in the same boat as Inki. |
