After Freddie and Ron were sneaking behind Kim's back like that? It seems like that issue was glossed over and they became friends again.

the fallout between Kimberly Reese and Freddie Brooks over Ron Johnson is one of the more controversial shifts in the later seasons. Kim eventually forgave Freddie and Ron because her romantic interest in Ron had significantly diminished by the time he and Freddie became serious, allowing her to prioritize her long-standing friendships and medical school goals.
The Breakdown of Trust The Overlap: Kim and Ron had a casual, on-and-off relationship in Season 5. However, while they were ostensibly still dating, Ron began developing deep feelings for Freddie. The First Kiss: During a hurricane in the Season 6 premiere, "Honeymoon in L.A. (Part 2)," Ron and Freddie shared a kiss while Ron was still living in close quarters with Kim. This created immediate tension, as Kim was still being pursued by Ron while he was simultaneously "sneaking" around with her roommate and best friend. Why Kim Forgave Them Lack of Compatibility: Kim realized that she and Ron were on completely different life paths. While she was a focused, high-achieving medical student, Ron was a struggling entrepreneur and artist. The "fizzling out" of their romance made it easier for her to let him go without lasting resentment. New Romance: Kim quickly moved on to a more compatible partner—her medical school classmate, Spencer Boyer. By the time she became engaged to Spencer in the series finale, any lingering hurt over Ron and Freddie had been replaced by her own happiness. Friendship History: Kim and Freddie had been through significant life events together, including being roommates for multiple years and supporting each other through major crises. Ron’s Support: Despite the romantic betrayal, Ron continued to support Kim as a friend, notably helping her through her difficult first anatomy class in Season 6. Ultimately, the show chose to focus on the characters' growth into adulthood. For Kim, forgiving them was part of her transition from a "stressed student" to a professional woman who valued her support system more than a past college relationship |
