When the news first broke out here Sunday afternoon . And I am right here in LA. They were saying a man and woman were found dead in a house in Brentwood owned by Rob Reiner. Pretty much leading us to believe that it was a rented out house or an Air BNB which are so popular out here, lots of rich tourists rent out big houses when they come to LA , so I thought , wow that's a shame, I wonder what happened ? I guess they are trying to get a hold of Rob Reiner who owns the home. I figured maybe he owned a couple houses and rented one out and didn't live in this one. I guess that is what I wanted to believe .

Than the second broadcast about it they said a man, age 78 and a woman age 68 found dead in a house owned by Rob Reiner . Than I thought , how do they know the people's ages exactly? Normally they would say approximate ages if they were still trying to identify the victims .Than it really hit me, I thought I wonder if the man is Rob, he is probably 78? I googled and sure enough he was, and it said his wife is 68. My heart dropped. But they were not saying how they died, I did not know just how awful this was at first!

Rob Reiner was a funny kid, according to Norman Lear

"Sixteen years later, watching him rehearse with Carroll O’Connor, I would be reminded daily of Rob on the floor with Ellen, teaching her jacks that summer on Fire Island.”

It never occured to me at the time, that it could've been the son who was the perpetrator. Admittedly, I wasn't fully aware of Nick Reiner's history with drug abuse.

When I did hear that he likely killed his parents, I immediately wondered if he was schizophrenic. I've never brought this up until know, but about five years ago, one of my neighbors was stabbed to death by her own son, who himself was schizophrenic. When you stab somebody repeatedly like that, that to me, indicates that this is "personal".
Nick Reiner was schizophrenic and became 'erratic and dangerous' after doctors changed his psych meds weeks before parents were slain

Rob Reiner's 54-Year-Old Sitcom Is Just As Relevant Today

The late, great Rob Reiner got his breakout role in the classic sitcom All in the Family, and more than 50 years later, it's still relevant.

1--While rehab and a possible conservatorship could be in the mix of motives, she opined that the precipitating event was probably Conan's party. Nick was not mingling in a normal way, he was being disruptive, approaching people with odd questions, staring strangely, etc. Evidently, no one said anything to his face until Bill Hader asked to leave their group because he was having a private conversation. This triggered Nick because apparently his parents sided with the party goers and not Nick. Who left first and with whom is still unclear.

This makes sense to me because it ties together much of the leaking we have heard. An industry party full of entitled people and an awkward unstable person trying to get their attention. One of "famous" eventually calls him out and he runs to parents. Rob and Michelle side with their friends and tell Nick to -- behave, act normal, leave - whatever. Nick sees this as betrayal.

2 - In a show of premeditation, he goes to the guesthouse and lies in wait until his parents are sleep and cannot fight back. Then Nick slaughters them with a knife. Most likely he cuts himself and his blood and that of his parents are comingled. Nick returns to the guest house to clean up. He heads on foot to the Santa Monica hotel that doesn't require registration.

3 -- At the hotel he sets up the blinds to secure total privacy. The hotel has said the way he did this indicates someone planning a multiple day bender.

While doing this he realizes he still has blood on him and showers again until he finishes cleaning. Because he is caught on camera before he gets to the hotel and looks OK, the blood is probably in his hair. It takes concerted effort to get it out.

Once clean as a newborn baby, he heads out to score dope. Evidently Nick's behavior is textbook for drug addicted killers of family members. The LAPD looked at the most likely spots for him to buy drugs, staked them out and got him near USC.

Btw, Reiner advocated for the release of the Menedez brothers and blamed the parent’s for their deaths - now the Menendez brother’s lawyer is NICK’S lawyer - karma!!! So, by Reiner’s political beliefs, it was his fault he was killed and Nick should be let out with no repercussions (Reiner was against the death penalty, too).

I take issue with that point. When staying at a hotel I usually close the blinds totally for privacy, don't want anyone seeing in. I guess that means I am planning a bender as well.
