Sorry fans but ABC canceled it for NYPD Blue. I heard this at Zap2it.com.

You've got to be kidding me. The best show on the network has been cancelled?

What?!?!?!?!?
How can they just cancel this show? Give it the time it deserves; this show is hilarious. If they really cancelled it, I'll be P.O.'d |

I don't understand how a show can do well enough as a midseason replacement to be picked up and then cancelled after it comes back to the air with only 2 new episodes. I think we need to write ABC about this. It may not make a difference but then again it may.

20 year bump.
Anyone know what show they're talking about? Clues are a sitcom, 'Joan' was in it, on ABC, and a mid season replacement in 2001. |

My guess is they were talking about the sitcom "What About Joan?" which starred Joan Cusack.

Kyle Chandler was also in What About Joan. It had none of the appeal of Early Edition, though.

ABC's fall lineup on Tuesdays in 2001 was Dharma and Greg/What About Joan/Bob Patterson/Spin City/Philly. What About Joan was a marginal renewal at best, but ABC needed some filler shows as Who Wants to be a Millionaire? was reduced from five nights to two. Joan did even worse in season 2 and was quickly pulled. Bob Patterson, a post Seinfeld starring vehicle for Jason Alexander, was also a disaster and pulled. Spin City moved an hour earlier to 8:30 and the two hour comedy block was reduced to one hour. NYPD Blue had been held as a midseason replacement and moved an hour earlier to 9:00 from its traditional 10PM hour which was now filled by Philly. Dharma and Greg aged fast, this would be its final season as well as Spin City's final season. Fall 2002 freshman 8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter replaced Dharma and Greg leading off the night, with According to Jim moving over from Wednesdays.
