Challenge of the Super Friends Goofs

In this video, we go through the third season of the Super Friends goofs and their most popular series, The Challenge of the Super Friends with lots of funny bloopers and goofs from Saturday morning's heroes. Look back at this amazingly fun show from Saturday mornings in 1978. The show was super popular and featured 16 episodes of our heroes facing off against the Legion of Doom with Lex Luthor, Braniac, Cheetah, Bizarro, and more. A lot of people forget there was also 16 additional regular episodes that season that featured the Wonder Twins who were not shown on any of the Challenge of the Super Friends episodes. The sheer volume of episodes probably led to the many goofs that came that season.

The show was produced by Hanna Barbera and starred Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Black Vulcan, Apache Chief, and Samurai. The show featured so many characters and had to be done on a tight schedule which probably led to some of the animation goofs where Batman in particular would face many costume irregularities where insignias would disappear or be inverted. Great leaps on logic were common in order to carry the story along, and continuity with powers and abilities wasn't always the best. In one episode, Wonder Woman is flying in space and a couple of episodes later she is unable to fly without her invisible jet.

The superheroes also tended to explain their actions before doing them. Voices came out of the wrong characters, and keeping track of which hero or villain was where became impossible with so many characters leading to many unintentional funny situations. This video also features Frady Cat, Skipper, and the zany superhero Thunder Blunder.
