Angus Cloud, the actor whose standout role as Fezco on HBO’s "Euphoria" spurred a quick rise to global fame, has died. A cause of death has not yet been revealed. Cloud was 25.

In a statement obtained by Deadline, Cloud’s family shared that he died today at his family home in Oakland, California. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” wrote the Clouds. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”



“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss,” the family continued. “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”




In a statement on behalf of HBO, a spokesperson added:

“We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”

Creatives across the pop culture landscape were left reeling on Monday afternoon with news that "Euphoria" breakout Angus Cloud died today at 25, subsequently taking to social media to pay tribute to a young talent taken far too soon.


- Among the first to chime in was actor Javon Walton, who played his on-screen brother Ashtray, on the HBO series. “rest easy brother,” he wrote in one message — adding alongside a photo in his Instagram stories, “forever family.”


- Actress Rachel Zegler wrote, “please remember how loved you are. this world is so quick to make you feel otherwise,” she wrote. “there are reasons to stick around. and this world needs you. oh, angus. we celebrate you.”

"Euphoria" star Zendaya has shared an emotional tribute to her former castmate Angus Cloud, following news of Cloud’s death Monday at the age of 25.

Cloud’s critically acclaimed role as big-hearted drug dealer Fezco launched the young actor into immediate stardom.



“Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor),” Zendaya wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday. “I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it)

Angus Cloud's Former Teacher is Raising Funds to Build a Skate Park in his Memory

One of Angus Cloud's former teachers hopes to honor his memory with a skate park in the late actor's native Oakland.

Mike Oz, the executive director of the Oakland School for the Arts and former grade-school math teacher of the "Euphoria" star, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $2 million for the construction of Cloud Memorial Park.

Cloud was an OSA graduate and an avid skateboarder, and he and Oz would often skate together after school.




Speaking to PEOPLE about the fundraiser, Oz remembered Cloud as a "very creative kid," and Cloud Memorial Park would reflect that, with Oz envisioning a stage and performance area, a tribute wall for kids to graffiti, a soccer field, and a basketball court.

"I want to bring life to downtown," he said. "I want positivity. I want art. I want music. It all added up where this terrible situation should amount to something good."




The proposed park would sit at Telegraph Avenue and 19th Street and be "a core part" of the OSA Uptown Art Park. "It's not just in honor of Conor, but in memory of all the OSA students that we lost too young from suicide, murder, and drugs," Oz added.

"I was very much a troubled kid, and it takes people to see your potential to get you out of that. For Conor's mom to tell me recently that I always saw his full potential meant the world to me. I hope that it will have that impact on people and be therapeutic for those who were close to Conor."




Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk has also thrown his support behind the project via his Skatepark Project foundation.

"TSP and OSA value the building of spaces that support creativity," Hawk told PEOPLE, "and to establish this park in honor of Angus Cloud, a talented actor and skater who cared deeply for his community and was lost too soon, is fitting."

Sydney Sweeney Remembers Tearful Calls with "Euphoria" Co-stars after Angus Cloud's Death

Both fans and creators of "Euphoria" were shocked at the sudden tragic death of cast member Angus Cloud this summer. In a new interview with Glamour, Sydney Sweeney says that Cloud's absence will feel even more impactful when his former costars return to set next year to film season 3 of the popular HBO series.

“[My costars and I] were constantly on the phone with each other crying, because it was just such a shock,” Sweeney told Glamour about when she first heard the news.

Sweeney continued, “I don’t think it’ll truly feel real or hit me until we’re filming and I won’t see Angus on set."




The actress told Glamour that she was "very excited" about what season 3 of the show will hold for her character Cassie Howard, but didn't discuss further details.

"It’s really interesting when someone passes away in our industry, because they’re still alive in so many forms," Sweeney said.

Angus Cloud's Uncle Says Family was Powerless to Stop his Death

Angus Cloud's tragic death at 25 shocked Hollywood in 2023. But the young actor's uncle says his family was all too familiar with his increasingly turbulent battle against drug addiction, though they felt powerless to save him.

"Those last few weeks he probably OD'd at least three or four times," recalled Kevin Cloud, the uncle of the rising star born Conor Angus Cloud Hickey, on A&E's new two-hour documentary special Fame and Fentanyl.

"He was gonna keep abusing opioids until he died."




Privately, he was waging battles against grief and physical pain that led him to drugs, and turned his family life upside down.

"He was in a lot of pain, and he had a job to do as an actor. Between the headaches and the ankle pain, it was a fair amount of motive to take painkillers. So, opioids. After his father died, by that time, he had come routinely to be kind of a mess," said Cloud.

"His mom Lisa was unable to sleep because she had to go keep checking on him to see if he was alive," Kevin Cloud shared, recalling the last few months of his nephew's life. "I said to Lisa, 'If it hadn't been the first of the month it would have been the sixth of the month, or the tenth of the month. That's just the way he was headed."




Kevin Cloud said he can still recall that day, which started with an urgent message from Angus' mother. "The saddest text I ever got in my life," he said.

"I think I was the first person there after the first 911 responders had arrived. The paramedics arrived and went, 'Uh, no. This isn't for us, this is for the coroners' wagon.' The coroners came in, one of the boys helped them zip him into the bag and carry him out of his bedroom and down to the wagon. I parked myself on the front porch and basically sat there for three days," he recalled.

Angus Cloud's Mom Explains Why she's Suing Over his Estate, Claiming Elder Abuse

Angus Cloud's mother is suing the legal team that she claimed filed "false and frivolous claims" against the late "Euphoria" star's estate.

Lisa Cloud, mother of Conor Angus Cloud Hickey, filed a new lawsuit on Nov. 5 against a Sacramento law firm.




The civil complaint alleges that attorneys Michael Hackard, Brian Geremia, and their firm Hackard Law allegedly "filed false and frivolous claims" against Angus' estate, "generating attorney’s fees and extracting settlement," causing "emotional distress, including anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, panic attacks, and prolonged grief."

Lisa claimed she has been forced to spend more than $64,000 in legal fees defending the estate of her only child, whose assets totaled around $50,000.




"This case is about accountability and fairness," Lisa told PEOPLE exclusively. "My goal has always been to protect my son's legacy and the integrity of his estate from wrongful legal actions that caused unnecessary harm and distress...

I have a great respect for the court system and for the many honest attorneys who work with compassion and integrity. I simply believe no family should have to endure this kind of abuse of process after losing a loved one. I'm seeking resolution and dignity, truth and respect."

In the lawsuit, Lisa, 65, accused the defendants of fraud, elder abuse, malicious prosecution, and intentional infliction of emotional distress from what she alleges was a predatory legal campaign from the attorneys representing a man, Jonathan Kim, who claimed to be Angus' "personal assistant."




According to the filing, Kim claimed that the "Euphoria" star owed him more than $310,000 in unpaid wages; however, Lisa alleges Kim's assertion was "entirely fabricated," citing as evidence the other assistants Angus had on payroll during the same period and that Kim had no employment records, wage documentation, contracts, or tax forms as proof of debt to support his claims.

She also claims Kim was banned from Angus' entourage after a public altercation.



"Geremia and his partners agreed to represent Mr. Kim who had no evidence to support he was employed by decedent and no investigation as to whether his claim was supported by law and evidence," Lisa claimed in a letter to the judge in March.

"He also submitted false evidence to show this client was entitled to commissions of $195,000 by verbal agreement."



The lawsuit also claimed that Kim's firm "breached confidentiality" by sharing a private letter Lisa had sent to the attorneys.

Lisa alleges that Kim then sent her threatening messages. "[It] caused Plaintiff to fear for her physical safety,” the complaint reads.
