Following the success of The Electric Company in the 70's and 321 Contact in the 80's Children's Television Workshop was taking off like a rocket but after The Electric Company ended it's run in 1981 and 321 Contact debuted in 1983 Children's Television Workshop decided to sally forth and come up with a show targeted at kids ages 10 to 14 and dealt with math and in 1989 Square One TV was born. With it's catchy theme song and hip image Square One TV taught kids the simple ways of math through a interesting format and from the first episode kids really liked Square One TV because it taught math in a hip way and with math oriented game show skits with titles such as Close Call this show was really a way that most kids who disliked math saw that math could be fun. I wonder why a new reboot of Square One TV hasn't been thought up at PBS because this is another classic show that could easily work for the generation of today
