i don't think it jumped the shark, every episode was either good or great, some episodes from the last season are among my favorites. From what i remember ABC wanted the show to "mature" with more "explict" storylines. whatever that means in the context of a show like the wonder years, but the writers and creators weren't really comfortable going down that path.
Planned or not i think the show ended at the perfect time the characters had matured to a certain point that making another season or taking the show on to lets say kevin in college or whatever wouldn't have worked, then it would have jumped the shark. |
