I agree. It always annoys me when people automatically dislike something simply because it's "before their time". That actually makes it more interesting to me.

From Johnny's monologue tonight- " Donald Trump was in the news today…."

It doesn't get more current than that.

I agree that they should let us know in advance what guests are on!
They do that on their Facebook page. I am 29 and watch the last two years of Johnny Carson as a little boy with my grandmother. I am a history buff so I am sure I can jokes about the Vietnam War or Three Mile Island.

I'm into nostalgia and history! I love learning about events before I was born ! I didn't mean myself when I posted, I said it seemed a lot of young people might not be into it!

Nice that you are 29 and into History!

But it's still a shame for TVfactfan, Three's company and the Jefferson's are two of his favorite shows! I know I was a little upset when Johnny Carson bumped off my One day at a time weeknights! But they put it on in the afternoon, but to be honest, I wish they had left it on at night!

Wikipedia says there are 6714 Tonight Show With Johnny Carson episodes. Is there a count of how many of these Antenna has run since they started back in 2016? I’ve heard they show a lot of the same ones over and over.

(I tried to find the Johnny is coming announcement thread but I can’t. This one is the closest I could find. Didn’t want to start a new one).

Considering that the only episodes that survived were the 1972-1992 ones when he moved from New York to California, its those ones that usually keep airing. It doesn't help that because of these dastardly music rights, most musical performances are cut out of the episodes that originally featured them, alongside some that are very difficult to clear because of the aforementioned music rights issues or celebrity clearance issues.

Googles number of episodes is less than Wikipedia, at 4,531 episodes. Maybe they go with the surviving number. Yes edited, but going with that number, I wonder if Antenna has shown them all. With them repeating episodes I don’t think the math works out.
