Apparently this supposed change in programming isn't happening any time in the near future. Here's the programming schedule straight from the Family Communications website which shows one episode per weekday through August 2009.

Some individual PBS stations have elected to continue daily airings and will have episodes provided to them to air. The decision to pull it was a national-PBS decision, and it's up to individual states' PBS to decide.

That may be the case but I still have a hard time believing that any PBS station in its right mind would take away their daily airings of Mister Rogers.

I wish there was a station that would air the older kids' shows like Mr Rogers, pre-Elmo Sesame Street, 3-2-1 Contact, Square One TV, and others. Those were the best. Today's kids shows just can't compete, escially Barney and the Teletubbies.
