NBC may have to eat triple the costs to hold onto its Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast rights, according to a report. |

In my eyes why NBC may be paying triple the cost for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is probably because the current contract is up and NBC is trying everything in their power to keep the parade on the network and since they also air it every year on Peacock that is double the price for Macy's. But what I think will happen is that NBC will give Savannah Guthrie Al Roker and Craig Melvin high raises in their jobs for hosting next year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Craig Melvin will get a mega bonus since he is replacing Hoda Kotb in next year's parade. But I can't figure out why NBC has been the official home of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade but the Macy's 4th Of July Fireworks Spectaculars are always syndicated? But if this deal fails I can see CBS or ABC becoming the new home of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the future. Because when it comes to holiday programming NBC has always been the most expensive network for making new holiday specials that probably cost them lots of money to make
