Well, if you base your opinion on that of every 25 year old angry basement-dwelling troll trying to produce ragebait on YouTube for views, I could see how you would feel that. I'm not trying to be insulting, just making a general observation. The guy who posted that review is part of a large number of angry and embittered GenZ males that lives to tear down everything. I didn't have to even click on the video to guess what demographic he was from. As usual, he is another 20-something male who lives to track down those shows and movies that have nothing to do with the things GenZ males love (anime, comic books and video games) and tear it apart. This is what they do. They will never try to watch and promote something that is actually good and that they enjoy because that type of attitude doesn't rake in views like ragebait does.

I'm not a "25 year old angry basement-dwelling troll", and I didn't like Girl Meets World. I didn't watch the video, so I don't know what he said about it either. However, I did feel like the show was overall poor compared to Boy Meets World, and other sitcoms, including Disney produced ones. To keep things short, GMW felt so half-baked. The overall plotlines they attempted to do like the Riley-Lucas-Maya "love triangle" were just weird, and off putting. Like, they resolved that by saying that Maya only crushed on him because she "wanted to be like Riley" which was unrealistic, and...weird. Yeah, weird. It's like they didn't want to go "too far" by having the two girls have a real conflict with each other so they went with that half measure nonsense. Corey was a terrible teacher. Unlike Feeny, he would let his class do whatever they wanted, and his lessons felt super on the nose in ways Feeny's often didn't. And he was just...not a great mentor. I never felt an actual warmth between him and his students, it rang really hollow. I get it, it's a kids show, but so was BMW, and that show felt more genuine (at least in the earlier seasons), and more fun. I feel like GMW really needed more episodes where the kids felt like real kids. We never really saw them have fun misadventures like in BMW. BMW had an episode where they opened a B&B in Feeny's house, for instance. GMW had.....................this sterile, one note episode where they go back to the ski lodge from BMW, and Riley talks to Lauren's son all night, and........that's it. In BMW, major conflict arose from that. In GMW, it was a nothingburger. I think that highlights a huge problem with the show. |
