She did always look really nice on the show.

Susan had a very spacey and dreamy vibe and aura about her on the show. That's meant to be a compliment. She seemed to be very expressive with her eyes.

One of my favorite moments from her was in the "Beethoven, Brahms and Partridge" episode from the final season. Laurie while in the kitchen, overhears Keith tell Shirley that he's going to take his new girlfriend Rachel upstairs to his room. The expression that Laurie makes upon hearing this is priceless.

Susan Dey as it already was, had these big and bright blue eyes and pouty lips.

I don't know if that necessarily means that Susan got more weathered and homely looking as she got older. As others have said about Susan in this interview that she did with David Letterman circa 1988, her makeup and hairdo were not particularly flattering.

I'm guessing that combined with simple, natural aging, Susan had struggled with alcoholism and an eating disorder. Those two factors presumably, would've taken an inevitable toll on her looks.



I also can't help but wonder if Susan was a smoker.

Seeing Susan in this performance of "Crying in the Rain" in the "Two for the Show" episode from Season 4, I kind of get why boys would've immediately fallen in love with her.

Susan in that clip does this thing with her mouth where it looks like she's trying to be flirtatious while in the presence of the Williams Brothers, Andrew and David. But Susan is so cute that it just comes across as more innocent and playful.

Come to think of it, I suppose that Susan during her Partridge Family days sort of strikes me as being the Liv Tyler of her day in that there's something that's very soft, hypnotic, ethereal, dreamy, and feminine about her aura.

I also think that Susan kind of looks like how I would imagine Vanessa Hudgens would look like if she happened to be Caucasian.
